What's new

Online Survey by #Pakistan Defence Forum finds overwhelming support for Afghan refugee repatriation.

Use them don't discard them. Keep them under vigilance and strict monitoring. Classify them useful, useless, harmful, harmless .... deal with them accordingly. We should have done this from start but well ..... we at that time thought it was good idea to let them spread across the whole country, and even settle in capital city.

After thirty years when the damage has been done ... brunt has been borne, what would we achieve by sending them back? Peace? Trace back every terror attack to refugee camp(s), use them for every blame the world throws at you ........ keep slapping Kabuli Ghanis and Karzais for their incompetence and keep using them (refugees) as pressure tactics, bargain chips with the rest of the world. Their going back doesn't make any significant difference now ...... had it been some 20 years ago ..... it may have helped, but now it doesn't matter much.

I also support @AZADPAKISTAN2009 completely. Afghanistan needs to merge with Pakistan. That is the only solution to all the problems, like no Durand Line issue, removal of Indian influence, no pashtunistan issue etc etc.

A merger of sorts was proposed in 1954.

Maybe you have reading issues, but then again Khanzirs can't read. .
Dont share your family lineage details on the public forum. Also since almost in every other thread u use this word so pretty much tells us you hail from this family, insan apnay ghar walon ko aksar hee yaad karta rehta hai

Why not do selective immigration! The Turks took afghans who were good carpet weaver's in the 80's which gave them a very good carpet industry. Pakistan should revise its immigration policy and people who can be decent citizens like businessmen should be allowed!
Afghanistan does not exhibit satanic arrogance towards Turkey.

Being selective would be cost, time and labour intensive. Is it worth it for Pakistan?

Given the results of this survey, let me offer a minority view.

The Afghan refugee problem is a red herring. Pakistan's problems are much larger than those attributed to the refugees. The benefits of repatriation for Pakistan will be minimal, if any.

On the other hand, it can be argued that looking at the bigger picture, and putting aside immature knee-jerk reactions, the antagonism towards naturalized Afghan-Pakistanis and Afghanis in general is causing us greater harm.
What sort of harm?

Wasn't aware of the poll, had i known about it i would have voted NO. simple facts to justify my answer

1. Does anyone know how many Afghan refugees are/were involved in terrorism in Pakistan?

2. Majority of the refugees are women and children, how many women and children have committed terrorism in Pakistan.

3. As for integration into society, i know so many Afghans in Australia, they are very hard-working people. Yes some of them hate Pakistan and mostly because of Pakistan's support for Afghan Taliban but alot of them love Pakistan and most of these people have lived in Pakistan for many years. Infact i meet this Tajik couple that lived in Pakistan for 12 years. They speak perfect Urdu and not like the bollywood gangsta style hindi that they speak in Karachi.

4. Also these people will have no way to support their families when they go back. So a better solution would have been to only send back the useless ones and keep the ones that are hardworking and skilled.

They don't want to merge. They want rule like a king over the inferior beings.
Do you not get it?
They don't want to be fairly treated along with Daal Khor but lord over him.

Also it is not just about terrorism
Afghanistan does not accept Pakistan since 1947. So why let them in? Would you let someone into your house freely when he does not accept you?
Oh there was no Afghan Taliban in 1947.
