We are weak than US, so for now the best way is keep Taiwan's state like present. I have seen some Taiwanese foreign ID cards in japan. There is Taiwan province of People Republic of China written on their ID card. It is enough for us by now. And we can get Taiwan back whenever we want when we are strong enough to counter US.
