Days ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned visit to Russia, the government on Thursday gave its go-ahead for the acquisition of the S-400 Triumf air defence missile systems from Russia.
The Rs 39,000-crore deal can turn out to be a game changer for the India’s defence system against any sort of airstrike as it can destroy any incoming hostile aircraft, stealth fighters, missiles and drones at ranges of up to 400 km.

The deal, which was sanctioned by the defence acquisitions council (DAC) headed by the Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, will give India an edge over the hostile neighbours in terms of air defence.

Under the deal, India is expected to get five air defence missile systems. Three of the systems are likely to be deployed in west (read Pakistan) and two in the east (read China) to counter the threat from neighbouring countries

Now no need to fear from Chinese or Pakistani missiles

So India spends 5.5 Billion USD for purchasing 5 systems and then you think they will cover the whole land mass of India. And both Pakistan and China can do nothing about countering it.

what so ever develop every technology leaves some gapes that's why chinese interested in s-400 to learn those gapes to fullfill future requirement what indian will be needed in case of deployment of s-400 against Pakistani & chinese sides...

lol seriously against nasr? even if it is placed 150km away from border 80% of u r airforce stations will be covered by it most of u r cities as well will be no fly zone and on mercy of it

A reliable missile shield is not child's play. We are still many decades away, if we get there at all. A good missile shield will be multi-tiered to begin with, starting from ICBMs to hypersonic missiles. No country has that capability yet, least of all India.

I'll talk about whatever I want, And Iron dome has around 85-90 Success rate (I've seen interceptions couple of times)

Yes, AFAIK there was talk of procuring Arrow 3 as one leg of the system. I don't know what happened to that. India's missile defense programme is quite confusing so no one really knows what goes on. On one hand they have a domestic BMD programme, and several other things running simultaneously. Chaotic to say the least.

Why you are always bothered about China? What about you? S-400 covers almost all Pakistani airspace.
