New Concern Over Chinese "Carrier-Killer"

China is developing an ASBM based on a variant of the CSS-5 MRBM as a part of its anti-access strategy. The missile has a range in excess of 1,500 km, is armed with a maneuverable warhead, and when incorporated into a sophisticated command and control system, is intended to provide the PLA the capability to attack ships at sea, including aircraft carriers in the western Pacific Ocean.

DF-21C
Its DF-21C is believed to be a derivation on the DF-21/DF-25 for the so called SC-19/KS-19 ASAT ground based system. This is a land variant with improved range capability DF-21. This is the first time this DF-21C has been fully displayed publicly in the practice parade of September 6th for the October 1, 2009, 60th. anniversary parade.

I would like to remind Members, that even though this shows China's innovation and Technical prowess if such a missile does exist.

It does by no means mean that China has effectively countered The US navy.

Whilst China my develop new and more capable missiles.

THe US navy and the US military as a whole is developing cutting edge Next gen weapons.
Ranging from
High- Frequency lasers(ALL branches)
Rail guns(both army and Navy)
Combat exoskeleton( Army and Marine corp)
Hafnium Bombs(Nuclear isomer WMD )

Also The US navy will soon use the F-35 , which can seek out and destroy any such missiles before the carrier comes in range

This is just a short summary.
But you know what i mean

Matching or deterring US power by conventional means is no small feat.
The only deterrence now or in the near future is though nuclear Fission or Fusion devices

High-Frequency lasers
long way to go,still testing to intercept the missiles over the rising phase, facing lots of problems like:platform 737 is an open target, easily affected by the weather and cloud layer, orbital transfer,multi-missiles

not just US is working on the conception weapons,F35 does not have the air superiority as F22
CJ10 Range: 1500 kilometers Accuracy rate: less than 10 meters
YJ12 : can be launched from a variety of platforms, including fixed wing aircraft, surface ships ,submarine
we are not talking about defeat US here, these things are enough to deter them ,US will face thousands of casualties in the first day if they involve in a war across the taiwan strait .are they willing to sacrifice that much for taiwan, china can,cos taiwan is a part of china .

That's right. We Chinese will stick together to defend Taiwan from USA or any other "evil-doer" (words of Bushie). :)

China has deployed solid-fueled, roadmobile
missiles for nearly two decades,
starting with the first DF-21s in the late-
1980s as it began to replace the DF-3A. Deployment
of the medium-range DF-21 did
not get under way in earnest until 1991,
and significant increases in the number
of DF-21s have occurred only very recently.
In 2005, the Pentagon estimated that
China had 19–23 DF-21s for approximately
36 launchers.4 The 2008 report lists “upwards
of 50” nuclear-capable
DF-
21s deployed
for 60 launchers, a 148 percent increase
in missiles over four years. The Pentagon estimates China's total
DF-21 inventory at 60-80 missiles, with balance being conventionally
armed ANTISHIP ballistic missiles base on the CSS-5 (DF-21) airfame
”5 Some DF-21s may also have an antisatellite mission, a capability demonstrated in 2006 when China destroyed one of its satellites with a DF-21 launched intercepter.

Did you even care to know where this article came from ?

Its from US Naval Institute

You think some Mr. dumass like you know more ?

What a bunch of cheap jealousy LOSSER.

Go and challenge US Naval Institute !! :smitten::pakistan::china:

P.S. Come back to talk to me when you Indians finally figure out how

to make a simple DECENT RIFLE for your army boys !!:toast_sign:

I think this thread is not worth for any discussions. May be thread starter is just trying to disseminate information(fair enough).
The article was edited in US naval institute but information is collected from sources like: http://www.sinodefence.com/space/spacecraft.asp,http://www.sinodefence.com/strategic/weapon.asp, Sinodefence's Missile Page,http://www.sinodefence.com/airforce/uav/xianglong.asp,http://www.china-defense-mashup.com/?p=1369
I can imagine the way people posting here are more interested in insulting each other rather doing some more research to prove their claims.

Anyhow, i used word 'futuristic' for such capabilities in my previous posts and i think it is possible but gonna take many years to achieve such capabilities.
Please do thank me if you guys like this very honest and more precise information adhering with this link:-China's Evolving Conventional Strategic Strike Capability: The Anti Ship Ballistic Missile & Beyond
One more thing Americans are disclosing such capabilities of china them self, one could understand why? Interestingly, US is spending (Link:-Black budget) $17.5 billion last(2008) fiscal year in R&D which is 17.5% of total chines military budget approximately . By everyday passing they are moving ahead and wining the race. The time is your enemy, Best of luck.
Don't pull India into discussions every where; your are inviting more trolls like mine :azn:

Just look at this guy shooting his mouth! Since when has China figured out any thing at all? You just rip off Russian and western designs and mass produce. Just when finally China decides to compensate Russia for copy right violations of the AK-47 for the last 60 years, just one of the thousands you have ripped off from Russia!! For Heaven's sake just stop acting like you are cat whiskers.

And now he is ripping off American curses and abuses and pretenting to sound very American.

The protection may come too late in the day for it to be if any use to the Russians and the Kalashnikov brand name though.

Russia's state arms exporter Rosoboronexport said Thursday it was working to reach an agreement with China on copyright protection of Kalashnikov assault rifles.

"We have received China's national patent for Kalashnikov products. The documents have been handed to the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation to prepare and conclude an intergovernmental agreement in the field," Anatoly Isaikin, the head of Rosoboronexport told journalists.

Guess who are still begging for AK-47 ?

Saddled with Insas, Army wants new AK-47s - India - The Times of India

Saddled with Insas, Army wants new AK-47s
Shishir Arya, TNN 7 September 2009, 12:53am IST

NAGPUR: The indigenous 5.56x45mm Insas (Indian National Small Arms System) rifle has been the standard assault weapon for the Indian Army since the
late 1990s. However, the jawans using it in counter-insurgency operations find it ineffective.

As part of the new Army doctrine, the gun is meant to incapacitate the enemy, rather than kill. Insas has a smaller calibre, which means it has less power. This is because — and it’s the official view — injuring an enemy can lead to enemy soldiers getting engaged in tending the wounded, thus yielding a tactical battlefield advantage.

The technocrats who interacted with soldiers in the forward areas were told that this theory does not work with terrorists who, apart from attacking in small numbers, are never bothered about evacuating their injured. Hence, the soldiers say, they want to shoot to kill, rather than maim.

The soldiers also spoke about practical difficulties in using Insas. It’s accurate but not as rugged as the AK-47 used by terrorists, they say. Also, its sling often snaps while firing, making it fall during manoeuvres. The sling also obstructs the rifle’s sight. But most of all, the size of the sling never took into account the bullet proof jacket worn by jawans. As a result, it falls short and is uncomfortable to hold. This hampers quick reaction. Insas also does not have a rapid fire feature; it shoots only three rounds in a single burst.

‘‘The barrel overheats with continuous firing. The magazine cracks even on falling, which is common during action. Oil spillage while firing is also major trouble,’’ said a source quoting soldiers. ‘‘Zeroing (adjusting the sight for aim) has to be done each time the rifle is opened to clean or for any other reason. Lack of proper zeroing hampers the working of night vision device,’’ said the same source.

The total additional weight — around 40 kg with bulletproof jacket and signalling equipment — that a soldier carries is also a matter of concern, as is the colour of the rifle: they want it in brown which offers better camouflaging. On the positive side, Insas’s transparent magazine helps soldiers keep a count of bullets.

Former director general of infantry, Lt General Shanker Prasad, said Insas is antiquated and the Infantry needs a modern rifle. The Army has repeatedly asked for new assault weapons, but nothing has moved. It’s learnt that forces are now expecting new indigenously developed AK-47 rifle said to be an improvement on the original.

At least we are trying to develop a weapon by our on man...Yes We prefer buying than stealing it from other guys..there is some dignity in it..you can see many links there which shows you stealing technologies ..

One of the Chinese member said in another tread that they copying it to bridge the gap..Well its your country your wish..But what gives you the right to make fun of us?we are developing our own weapons and some times problems occur..

Every country has its share of problems when developing new technologies...no body become perfect on their first chance...Thinking that your country is perfect than any other country is just arrogance and only a moron can think like that...

KLIMOVSK, October 22 (RIA Novosti) - Russia is working on an agreement with China on copyright protection of Kalashnikov assault rifles, the head of Russia's state arms exporter Rosoboronexport said Thursday.

"We have received China's national patent for Kalashnikov products. The documents have been handed to the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation to prepare and conclude an intergovernmental agreement in the field," Anatoly Isaikin told journalists.

Isaikin said the process of reaching a deal with China will be lengthy, but that Russia hopes it will be finished soon, and noted the huge number of unlicensed Kalashnikov rifles produced all over the world.

"There are about 100 million Kalashnikov assault rifles worldwide, of which half are counterfeit, i.e. produced without licenses, patents and intergovernmental agreements," he said.

Isaikin said over 15 countries, including Bulgaria, Romania, Egypt, and China, produce the rifles either on expired licenses or without them.

So whats the big deal to work on an agreement ?

BTW, PLA is using our indigenous Type 95/97 assault rifles now !!

Yeah right, you doing the same thing, the different is we have the

ability to do it and you simply can't !

The Indian armed forces had been equipped with an Unlicenced
reverse engineered
of the famous Belgian FN FAL rifle since the 1950s. This copy is considered to be a distinct weapon (although certainly not an original design), since its parts cannot be interchanged with either the metric or inch-pattern versions of the FAL.[1] With the 7.62 mm self-loading rifle becoming obsolete in the 1980s, India began to develop the INSAS, incorporating features from several contemporary rifle designs. Although largely based on the ever-popular AKM, the INSAS has a number of differences, making it a unique weapon.

Even your insas was a unsucessful copy. a great example of your

impotence.

Can you tell me Insas was a copy of which gun and from where did we steal the technology from??since your impotence can be covered by stealing the technologies you can wave your flag high..Dont push it mate !! I really don't want to stoop down to your level...

I already told you every country has its pros and cons..And you very well know that we are not making this story up about stealing the technology...There are proofs of it from 90's on wards and we already showed you couple of links about it too..

Now I know you will start talking about poverty and shittiing issues ..Dude lets have some constructive discussion from the usual trolling..

You only knows about the failures of DRDO and its subsideries of India let me give you some idea..

The Prithvi,Agni,Nag ,Akash all these missiles are developed by the same DRDO who you said is a total failure ..Some these missiles are now inducted in the military force and some are getting ready to get inducted..

Other than missiles there are some other systems that are developed by DRDO which are inducted to the military..

Rajendra Radar, Sonar named USHUS are some of them ..To know more about the techs you can ask any of the military enthusiast guy around here who has a sound knowledge of Indian developed weapons..

So when you come back showing the incompetence Of our scientists you better come up with some good facts ok otherwise you are making a complete joke out of your self...

I have never 'manufactured news' buddy. I have posted items from the internet. If you find them not to your liking or not reliable, that is a different issue. 90% of the articles on this forum quote Daily Mail-Islamabad a journal hardly worth being called a news paper.

I have always provided links. If the news agencies being quoted are unreliable, I will be glad to be so informed. Regards, out.
