Nepal and Bangladesh reducing poverty faster than India

Yes india,s big population is her big advantage but only if they know how to use it. Or they can,t use it in a good way then they must do something to control it otherwise in the near future more people will die from starvation.Corruption is also one of her biggest challenge.
I agree an average indian is extremely poor and lives in a miserable state and the reality is exact opposite to what we see in bollywood movies, few fair skin handsome actors wearing fashionable clothes and living like westners.
Really!!mate afaik, the per capita income of India is more than that of Pakistan,so that means an average Pakistani is living in a dirt poor condition, isn't it:crazy:!Actually the truth is quite a bit different though. The Indian middle class population is more than 350 millions which is actually more than the population of the U.S.A.(the 3rd most populated country in the world).yeah i do admit that we have a lot more to achieve in the near future but that doesn't mean that we haven't achieved anything in the past couple of decades.the GoI is trying it's level best to lift more and more masses from below poverty line and it has already pulled more than 140 millions of them in the past decade only....:coffee:

just curious !! there is no mention of pakistan here :D

haha hostile. frankly was 1971 an act of hostileness.
cina and pakistan havnt been hostile. its india which has been involved in conflict with every neighbouring country especially neuru expansion dream that lead to indian occupation of every bit of land it could from kashmir to sikkam, goa and andaman islands
--
if nehru was expansionist ..
1971 act of hostile ... yes by whom.. by those who treated bengalis / west pakistans as secondary citizen ..even not a citizen
there was no kashmir issue pending .. whole kashmir could have with india
he signed panchasheel with china and in return we got 1962

read and understand history without emotion and prejudice

Also there is no mention of UK and USA here :D

good you compare pak .. with usa.. uk.. that should be attitude ..

.
Nepal and especially BD have performed very well in social indicators but there is a reason for that.
The reason is BD,Nepal and Srilanka are not investing in science and technology, where they stand in world in terms of R&D???
Not to mention that we also have to take care of our defence preparedness as there are two very hostile neighbours in our borders.Taking all these things in minds i think we are doing well, give India some more time.

Coming up with excuses is the only thing Indians are good at. :enjoy:

First you indians should stop dragging pakistan without any reason when it comes to discussing poverty of india.Better think about feeding your starving masses .
Don,t go offtopic and don,t listen about the reality of your country.

Excuses and always in denial mode.

This is a discussion about poverty.. if the datas given are right why you are fearing discussing about Pak's poverty also.. isn't it also a south asian country??
this mpi index is published in 2010 and it only cpntains datas upto 2006 ... the next 6 years India performed better than these countries.. also the main thing is india, bangladesh, nepal, srilanka all countries steadly reducing the poverty but in pakistan's performance is bad.. a 15 percent increase reported in 2005-08..may be because of national calamities.. also pakistan spend most in defence.. near 3 per.. the other countries spend less than 2 per..

Population of Nepal = 27.47 MN
Population of Bangladesh = 154.7 MN
Population of India brought out of poverty in the past 10 years = 100 MN.

Faster is a function of rate. By 2020, the poverty number would have fallen even more. So, yes with smaller economies and populations, Nepal and Bangladesh will have 'faster' reduction rates. But, with current absolute numbers and the scale of operations, I would not dismiss the achievements of the the GoI (both parties).

Sorry, no.

The amounts of money India spends on anti poverty measures is higher than in any nation in the world!

The reason why the level of poverty reduction is lower is because of horrible mismanagement, corruption, etc etc in many states in India.

Yr BTW, aisi koi country h kya duniya me jahan poverty 0% h?:undecided:
