Most of Western world do not have any "Religious" census since ever... therefore the bit of data is only based on previous centers work and their "Sample"...
But in France per exemple... we do have restricted datas of "Name distribution" ... and "Islamic" related ones are "according" to recent studies on the data... Superior to PEW numbers... or like the open Data of "New Born Names". Where Islamic related ones are btw 18% to 20+%. Of course it doesn't represent current numbers but it's a glimpse at the "Demographic projection in at least Muslim pop" Something Pew didn't have.

Bc I know that in some regions of France, 20-25% of youth population in Muslim---but I would be interested to see if you have any source to show this is as a nation-wide phenomenon

it's yet to come out (7 march) only in French
But it's already making the headlines in France...

We still do not have the entire detail of the paper. and it's not all New born, it's male new born at 18% and Female ones a little less (no specific number yet)
But one thing is sure, is the "alleged" demographic increase of "Muslim pop isn't as projected by other research centers in the past... same goes for the 7.5% of Total Muslim pop... Since Fertility rate in France is around 2+ Even among other ethnicity/communities ( 2.5)... Therefore the correlation btw "Muslim" Fertility rate and "Muslim names" can't be correct.
If the 7.5% is indeed correct... it's impossible to get such high number of new born from that community... you will need to have among those communities a fertility rate way way more higher at least the likes of "Underdev countries"

So either the Fertility rate is wrong or Current Muslim pop. (The latter is more plausible since Fertility rate is a Nation wide census who are under dozens of research and statistic centers...)

The study was based by filtering Only "Arabic-Muslim names" The likes of Turkic/Balkans/RU etc ones aren't included.

Most of these Muslims were there before Russia even existed or ruled them. In fact in the the regiuons the % of Muslims was majority. when Russian conquered and colonized these peoples the % dropped. Now all your seeing is status quo reverting to the past.

Ethnic Russian is 81% of Russia population. If including other East Slavs that numbers goes up to 85%. So highly doubt it.

And this is true only for rural population, not for urban population. Due to ongoing urbanization (North Caucasus still more rural place) in 10-20 years population grouth rate there will be the same as anywhere in Russia. So his statement is 100% fake.

Russia of course will not be fully majority Muslim Country in the near future they are already a sorta of infuential group there politically question how more so in the future
