good news,
the Navy is relatively in bad shaped compared to other arms of military forces of Pakistan.
this induction of ASW Helo is a good addition.

this is not fair,
with the news stating the induction of IW/EW aircraft, my first thoughts were that PN have got there hands onto some Y-8X platform. if we can get some maritime survelliance aircraft from China this will be real good to support te upgraded fleet of P-3C!

naming 850XP meant for VIP transport for PN High Command as IW platform is not fair.

regards!

dual role a/c - 4 are ordered - 3 for IW/EW config and the 4th will be dual-role! - its fair!

Hawker 850XP

On Order;3

- In service from November 2010

- Note: Although the aircraft was delivered to Pakistan in late August 2010, it was officially accepted into service during an official ceremony on 4th November 2010. Media reports suggest that the aircraft has an EW/surveillance role, but no details regarding specific sensor fits are known, nor whom performed any work that may have been undertaken with this in mind.

Update:

Hawker 850XP

Pakistan Naval Aviation

- Note: Although the first aircraft from an order of 4 was handed-over in Pakistan in late August 2010, it then returned to Dallas, TX for the installation of a VIP-specification interior. It is believed that the 3 outstanding examples from this order will be configured with 'special mission' equipment for a surveillance role.AFM

some things are not stated openly - having said that it will be known soon!

Can PN z9ec carry 2 torpedoes on one mission or is it limited to one torpedo permission

Note to self: in future, read date of post before the post itself or a whole page of a 8 year old thread :hitwall:

With 4 x 054 and 4 x Turkish vessels and 2x opv being added replacing 6 type 21 would mean there is a need to add more heli to existing 6 z-9s, and replacing older French alluotes like paa and paf

Another 6 or so would be minimum assuming all 54, Turkish and f22p would Need at least one with no spares or standby needed ??

I believe opv will get sea king and the rest will get new z9 so PN would be inducting close to 10 more z9s if no other alternate found
