His name is Dino Shafiq. He was from Dhaka. He migrated to UK in 60s n this show started in 77.
He is a Bangali so thats why he has a Banarsi accent.
He anyways, died in 1985 due to heart attack.

watch another sitcom named ''it ain't half hot mum'' its also of Dino Shafiq.
in this he performed as a Chai Wala to British Army i n India in WW2.
