What's new

My Motherland Pakistan

I live in Bahria town Islamabad.

One word when it comes to cleanliness

SPOTLESS.
It's all about organization. This is a private enterprise that is properly managed.

You cannot replicate bahria town results in Rawalpindi. For one how many people pay RCB and CCB taxes?

.
Actually except for maybe Chandigargh (sic).. Rest of Indian cities are worse off.. Culcutta, Bombay, Delhi especially Old Delhi, Madras are absolutely chaotic and dirty, Bangalore used to be such a clean green place in the 90's but not any more
Are you for real ?Lol
Bangalore,Madras?
And rest of the places situations are better than past that I can say cause I have to visit most of the places very often..

Corruption is the problem.
Government if it required can force taxes. Example. If every shop has to pay say 1000 Rupees per month and every house depending on size also paid money and the government guaranteed clean streets then it can happen. It requires will power. People will only pay when they see benefits. They will not pay to see politicians profit

Every Pakistan who legally works pays EOBi and tax, where does it go? Pray tell, corruption works both ways. That pot hole on Islamabad highway is still there from 2008.

i remember when my came back from a trip to India he called Delhi as the most dirtiest city he has ever been i was surprised because i had the mental image of Indian cities shown in Bollywood movies.
my father also visited dhaka and he told that its air is the most polluted

Things in India have improved a Lot because of Modi Government's
Swacch Bharat Abhiyan -- Ofcourse we have a lot more to do

But at least the PM has made cleanliness a National priority

Now the cities are competing and Getting ranked in terms of cleanliness

Swach is a Hindi Word
And since it will be immediately linked back to MODI ; it is a Big No :astagh:

By the Way MODI himself picked up Brooms to start this Mission
Will Nawaz ever do so
I can see mainly in Bangalore or in Hyderabad youths are making groups & taking challenge of cleanliness in their hand..They are doing very good work. Also such movements can be seen in Mumbai,Pune..Good is it's increasing..
Swach Bharat practically did very little cause people who are concerned about cleanliness are small in number or too lazy to take self initiative but it has been able to put a common sense among people..

@MastanKhan Now that you are in Pakistan ; please try to understand
Pakistan's economic problems and weaknesses

All your posts and threads about Aircraft acquisitions always Ignore the
Economic REALITY of Pakistan

Hi,

As it i not defense related---I will reply to you.

It has nothing to do with economy but mismanagement---.

Property values are outrageous---restaurants are still full---and shops are bustling with business---.

The problem is pakistanis don't know how to build cities and and keep them clean---.

So---please---take a hint---stop being eternally st----.

Maybe CPEC that goes through the main cities of Pakistan will increase development and investment which will attract talent and therefore becomes more clean.

.
Agreed but little bit exaggerated may be because u spent long time in most developed country and u r standards of cleanliness are high but again u r right that our cities are expanding without proper planing.

No.. its not exaggerated at all!

Starting from airport's trash-bin resembling parking, you see trash every where.
Ask the guy who charge parking fee, he is willing to fight back because he has backing of Politician.
Its perfectly understandable for us that its Pakistan and we cannot expect clean and organized public places, but what message does foreigners take out of Pakistan?
Spreading trash, causing troubles for society, wasting resources are not Islamic behaviors!

It seems, priorities of Pakistan are different and above all is elections, democracy...

.
No amount of cleaning can get India (or any other place) out of being 'dirty' unless they stop littering and trashing in the first place. The instinct to not throw the candy wrapper, spit on the wall or dump trash into sewage - that hasn't gotten internalized fully yet though there are signs of slow (very) improvement. When a car stops in traffic, you can expect somebody to open the door and either spit or empty some bottle on the road. So it is not a 'poverty' problem alone.

.
After reading all this I conclude that more than Goverment we the people are responsible all this filth and mess. The day we correct our behaviour our towns and villages became clean.

.
Well cities in subcontinent host more ppl and average density per sq/km is high compared to western countries. Some of the cities were founded long time back (other than islamabad) say 2 or 3 centuries back. If you see cities in US are relatively new and there is no way they can be compared to the older subcontinent ones.

Hi,

Please understand---it is not about the age---it is about managing the city and maintaining the infra structure---that is what I am talking about---.

Street cleaners and cleaning equipment is there---employees are being paid---city has construction codes but no enforcer---judges give stay orders for useless things---.

The city ordinance says no constrtuction within 220 feet of either side of highways---still there are building touching the main roads----.

I am talking about the chaos and anarchy and lack pf ownership of the cities---not economic problems or older towns---.

Hi,

As it i not defense related---I will reply to you.

It has nothing to do with economy but mismanagement---.

My house in multan is next to the airport---it was worth around US dollars 7 figures 2 years ago---free and clear---.

Property values are outrageous---restaurants are still full---and shops are bustling with business---.

The problem is pakistanis don't know how to build cities and and keep them clean---.

So---please---take a hint---stop being eternally st----.

Greetings... you pointed correctly.... Pakistan doesn't know how to plan a township and even more a city.
Pakistan lacks regulations and policy making, for this you need technocrats, not bureaucrats.
You mentioned of sky high property prices, but non of those high priced societies have proper design and planning. Theirs lack of quality culture, which adds on top.

.
Some countries are ahead becasue they know difference between clean living
areas and filth

Read in Books , "Being Vested in cleanliness, is half of your faith"

Again they may be better than the past but certainly not better than places like Islamabad, So i was replying in that context.. Actually Bangalore has got worse, It used to be such a pleasant place..

The problem with most Indians here is they have this assumption that Pakistan is worse off than India in every aspect, Well as a person that have traveled to both countries i can tell you some of it are not
