Muslim Punjabi Tribes and their origins

well whatever i have stated are very commonly known theories about Arains so i am looking forward to unveil the origins of all the clans.... 2ndly what if we r really from arabs or persians? 3rd they r all sunni muslims none of them r shia atleast i never came across any shia arain..

There is nothing to substantiate the theories, The story of Arab link was invented by British who were master of divide and rule (Just like Martial Race) and than one wannabe Arab wrote book citing the gora as divine source - That's all. And be sure you are not Arab, you can get your DNA tested to prove me wrong. The majority (not all) Sunni because the saints who influenced them to change the religion were Sunni, anyway being Sunni doesn't make one Arab as there are plenty of Shia Arabs as well.

Then why not any Hindu or Sikh Arain exist?

Sialkot was founded by an Arain under Tughlag. The city was originally known as Aspalkot. Aspal mean kohra.

You guys will know who that person is If you know the Sufi saint that is in Sialkot.
no sir i am afraid the history of Sialkot goes back to vedic era
you can google it
it is a known fact

But bhuttos migrated from Rajasthan because its recorded, no one knows from where else before.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhutto_family

The older sindhi tribes are sammas and soomra.
Bhutos are arain for sure , they migrated from Palestine,Mumtaz Ali Bhutto cozin of ZA Bhutto admits that they are arain in his biography book, arain migrated from current Palestine (jeroshilum) various quotation are available in the kalam of Baba Bully shah ,and his poetry even clarify that arain are not Arabs,

Yes sir, but it was after an Arain that the city was conquered and named Aspalkot and today Sialkot. :)

now this is too much arain didnt invade sialkot and sial stands for a jatt tribe and kot means fort soo it was jatt and it has never been conquered by arain

i dont know about kalam of Baba Bullay Shah that says arains are not arab but surely he loved them because his spiritual master was an arain Baba Inayat Ali Shah and bhuttooos r purely rajputs they have nuthing to do with arains

Arab link is there for sure either you like or not ... now either they r random arabs or soldiers and how they went to and settled in Punjab is another theory which needs to be seen. Shia arabs at the time of Umayyad were very very little i guess soo they didnt travel along Mohammad Bin Qassim and most of the soldiers would have been sunni and it gives a boost to the claim of arains as they are only sunni muslims

Dimagh ka dahi mat ker read history.
Tareekh e Arainyaan,
lol no nuthing like that but there is a diffference between a tribe and labeling of a status suppose if at that time there would have been an arrain accountant so would his caste or tribe will be accountant??? so status in the society is a different thing , making a tribe out of some professions is another and a bloodline is a different thing

Bhai jaan, who was Imam Ali Al Haq, then?
who was he ?? i dont know

Why we all taking this much tension on who and what we are , just do simple maths all the current population of the world are offspring of their two parents,it means hypotheticaly the population can be at least divided mathematicalay by two (parents)so the previous progeny would be half of us by lapsing the time factor,so if we keep divided the population by 2 ultimately we will reach to two parents ,so we are all same yaaaar, chill maro

As I told earlier, Arains are group of people who were out casted by their clans/tribes or voluntarily did so after change of religion, hence there is no non-Muslim Arain.
Tu vi mani naa chal aydaan kr tou Hindoun Muslmaan hoya tey esy hey gey Arab.

Imam Ali-ul-Haq
Imam Ali-ul-Haq, better known as Imam Sahib, lived in the 13th century, during the reign of Feroz Shah Tughlaq (of the Tughlaq Dynasty). He is reputed to have converted a majority of the local population of Sialkot to Islam. Imam Sahib battled against Raja of Sialkot and martyred. Hazrat Imam Ali ul Haq's shrine is also situated in Sialkot city at the place where he was martyred. The path leading to the tomb is often lined with numerous prostrating pilgrims. The mausoleum complex is a maze of narrow corridors leading to several shrines of pirs (holy men). The tomb of Imam Ali-ul-Haq is to the right, through a mirrored gateway tiled with Quranic inscriptions and geometric designs. The courtyard is a place to sit and absorb the atmosphere. To the rear is a small graveyard where drumming, devotional singing and dancing takes place. The market outside is very photogenic and a large flat roof at the entrance to the shrine offers a panoramic view of the deals being struck.

Imam Ali ul Haq was the 14th Caliph of Hazrat Ganj Shaker. Hazrat Ganj Shaker lived his life during the reign of Emperor Bulban, therefore this source shows that Imam Sahib was from the era of Emperor Bulban. Both the emperors have time difference of 90 years. However, some other sources show that Imam Sahib participated in numerous holy wars during the era of Emperor Taghaluq, therefore as a whole, it can be said that Imam Sahib most probably lived his life during the time of Emperor Taghaluq.

Il deal with the Kamboh who are descendants of the ancient Kamboja people. The vast majority of Kambohs live in Punjab today, with smaller pockets existing in the UP area of North India (see map below). These latter mentioned Kambohs moved to UP due to earning fiefdoms and lands as part of service to the Mughals (most notably the Zuberi Nawab family of Meerut).

Ancient
The ancient Kambojas are usually described as an indo-iranic people and their presence has been noted as far north as modern day Tajikistan (Parama Kambojas).
However significant portions of the tribe moved southwards into KPK and Punjab, some adopting Hinduism and being integrated as Kshatriyas whilst others retained their old Iranic Zoroastrian beliefs.

For example the Buddhist Jatakas refers to the Kambojas in the following

"Kita Patanga Uraga ca Bheka
Bantva Kimim Sujjhati Makkhika ca,
Ete hi dhamma anariyarupa
Kambojakanam vithatha bahunnan"

Those men are counted pure who only kill
Frogs, worms, bees, snakes or insects as they will
Those are your savage customs which I hate
Such as Kamboja hordes might emulate (vol vi, 110)

The killing of insects, snakes is part of traditional Zoroastrian beliefs (see below)

Classical Zoroastrianism (i.e., from the Sasanian period, 224-751 CE),therefore, divides nonhuman animals into “good” and “evil” species. Good species must be protected at all costs by humans, who are subject to extremely harsh penalties if they abuse them. On the other hand, it is the sacred duty of believers to kill “evil” species (collectively called khrafstar ) at every opportu-nity, since by doing so they are reducing the foot soldiers available to Ahri-man in his campaign for advancing evil in the world.

By Ashokas time however most Kambojas seem to have converted to Buddhism (as was the case in the wider Indus region). Ashokas edicts nevertheless were written in the Aramaic script in Kamboja territory, again denoting their Iranic heritage.

Medieval

Following the Islamic invasions Kambohs to the north of Punjab seem to have submerged into other emerging ethnic groups and tribes. Those in the Central Punjab region however survived and maintained their tribal identity. According to tradition Bahaudin Zakariya converted a large section of the Kamboh to Islam.

During the Lodhi period, several Kambohs rose to high positions in the government.
Mufti Jamal-u-din Kamboh was the chief judge of Delhi
Sheikh Jamali Kamboh (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamali_Kamboh), court poet
Makhdum Sheikh Samayudin Kamboh Makhdum Sheikh Samayudin Kamboh, religious advisor to Behlul Lodhi

Mughal Period

It is during the Mughal period that the Kambohs get most of their fame. Several of the highest ranking generals in the Mughal army were Kamboh and a branch of the Kamboh were granted the fiefdom of Meerut (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nawab_Khair_Andesh_Khan). The Mughals regularly recruited Kamboh soldiers and many like Shahbaz Khan rose to the highest ranks. A good article on Shahbaz Khan and Kamboh's impact on Lahore during this era in the article below

http://www.dawn.com/news/1287407

Culturally Kambohs had an impact during this period with the noted Kamboh brothers from Lahore Sheikh Inayat Allah Kamboh and Muhammad Saleh Kamboh standing out. The latter was the teacher of emperor Aurengzeb and biographer of Shah Jehan. A mosque in old city Lahore was built in his honour after this death (close to Mochi gate). Its in a really bad state though!

British/Modern era

One of the most famous Kambohs during the colonial period is Nawab Waqar ul Mulq, one of the founding fathers of the Muslim League and its first general secretary. In the modern period communities of Kambohs can be found throughout Punjab especially in old city Lahore and Multan. Famous Kambohs living today are
