What's new

Muslim family expelled from Empire State building for praying get payout

they paid an undisclosed sum, so I guess they were going to lose.

I have seen them praying in public.. sometimes there is no other choice. but most of them wont inconvinence others, they will chose a place which is less crowded.
Also we understand they need to pray, its not a big deal.
India is too big a country..I shouldn't have generalised...but I didn't come across anyone

.
If I were allowed to swear, I'd speak my mind about this foolish couple.

What the hell is wrong with Muslims?

Few Thing For You Guys You Can Say your prayers any place If that place is clean and U r also clean in wado , and you are not disturbing any one and even their are different ways to perferm your prayers
Alot places doesnt have Public prayers room . So if its namaz time and you are not in ur home and or not close to mosque than you can perform your prayers in a silent area where no one is in your way. Majority Muslims who perferm Namaz on General Public is mostly from Arab because those area and society understood what that person is doing While he was Offering his namaz , but in other countries which dont understand they take it as a very big thing .
Let Allah be the judge if he accepts his Namaz or not.
If anyone is offering his prayers without being in anyones way or disturbing anyone no matter what religion he follows their isnt any problem Because he doesnt just lives in mosque. Mosques are more like a center point where every one comes up at the same time in a group to offer their prayers

Obeying the customs, laws of the land are just as important, not acting so bloody stupidly at times like these we live in is also advisable.

Here's what the observation deck looks like:

These people were intent on enforcing sharia laws on top of empire state building. When prevented from doing so, they go crying to the courts that their rights are violated and need compensation and punish people who prevented them from enforcing sharia. So, no one will dare to stop people wanting to enforce sharia. Its a win-win situation for them.
This is what creeping sharia and stealth sharia is all about. No wonder that many states in US are already enacting anti sharia laws..
Muslims will keep demanding special rules and privileges and in no time there will be sharia all over the place..

Most of the world over is illiterate when it comes to Islam. Including Muslims. But the finest example of dog-dumb illiterates are the ones who know nothing about Islam but preach like they're scholars, bearded extremists and clean shaven non Muslim extremists alike. And you're displaying the same rhetoric they display.

Wishing not to get into a religious debate which is banned, go search up what Sharia really is, and search a neutral source, not some right wing mentally deficient source for illiterates.

NEW YORK: A Muslim family that filed a $5 million a lawsuit against the owner of the Empire State building after being forcibly removed for praying on the observation deck of the building, have settled for an undisclosed sum.@Horus @Jangibaaz @HRK @PWCI @Tipu7

This is messed up. If they needed to pray, they could've prayed downstairs, there are plenty of areas where they could've prayed, this building is a city within itself.

The best option would be, to take the elevator downstairs to the first floor, go TELL the guards that they were going to pray there in an empty / less crowded area and the guards would've watched over them. NYC is home to almost all religions and faiths and there it little intolerance if any, and people are very accommodating to these things. This drama wasn't necessary.

Praying on the observation deck???? Really? What's wrong with people? At the end, idiots like these, make other Muslims look bad.

Thats the difference between Islam n other religions. Islam has mob mentality. Everything is done like a herd.

Others stress upon a person's personal relationship with God.

Along comes Einstein.

I guess it was a peaceful crowd they leveled the Babri Mosque to the ground, or the ones that killed thousands of Sihks in 1984.

.
Excellent they created a scene and sued, what a Fail

. .
Mr Super Einstien! Long before the destruction of Babri Structure, it was Babur who razed the temple on ground and built a Masjid on top of it. Those were the days of Islamic supremacy when thousands of temples were razed and looted. The peaceful crowd in Ayodhya just corrected a little historical injustice.

Regarding Golden Temple, both Sikhs and Hindus consider it holy and 1000s pay a visit to Shri Harmandir Sahib on a daily basis. A temple is a place of worship. Bhindrawala converted it into a virtual fortress with tonnes of ammo and explosives. He had to be flushed out. Though I accept it was Indira Gandhi's mistake to give prominence to Bhindrawala earlier. This special treatment by Govt made Bhindrawala think that he is the boss of Khalistan terrorist movement.

So if its namaz time and you are not in ur home and or not close to mosque...
Here is my take on this...

Every religion have its demands: moral, physical, rituals, deeds, and even clothing. Agreed ?

If you know that your religion demands that you pray X times a day, dress a certain way, speak in a precise manner, and perform specific deeds, is it not YOUR burden to be on the alert of the immediate environment that may interfere with those demands ?

A soldier have responsibilities that WILL interferes with his religious burdens and for that, he must seek religious approvals of his religious elders for him to not perform certain deeds, or speak in specific manner, or be absent at prayers at X hours. Correct ?

Am sure you guys get the picture.

So does a public recreational area -- the observation deck of the Empire State Building -- somehow a situation that FORCES a religious person to miss his religious burdens ? Who forces him, like a battle that forces a soldier to discard some religious duties, to VOLUNTARILY enter this public recreational area ? My God expects to hear from me at 1200 hr so I decide to go the restaurant at 1130 hr and forces the restaurant to make concessions to me when I have to pray at 1200 hr ?

There is a difference between praying together and purposefully praying together in public places of non islamic countries to show how different and holy you are in comparison to kaafirs!

Well humans in general live iin communities not alone . so you must expect they do many things together.
We play together ,work together , fight together , .... Then why we most shy in praying in front of each other.

.
Well you are wrong . there iis no must praying in solitude ,its not even encouraged as a matter of fact its the other way around .

I'm no Islamic scholar kind sir, but one either prays in a Mosque(which is encouraged), or in the secrecy of his house. One cannot pray in a street. If someone prayed in a street of Pakistan, people would consider that person mentally retarded.

.
From an other angle the authorities could have asked them politely to not pray on the deck and should have suggested them an apt place for prayers. Not that i am standing up for the couple, but the authorities also over reacted, when they expelled them from the building.

if there is no ban on praying in public area and you make problem for no one while praying then it's no one business to stop you from praying in public.

praying in public :cuckoo:

go make a big show of it, piss people off, and then exploit the system and get paid for it :disagree:
Why are you making a fuss, or just wondering that why didn't you get the idea first.

.
To the people coming out with the "they should have, could have" etc. The law favoured them, end of.
