Militants kidnap 25 Pakistani boys in Afghanistan

Afghanistan is increasingly becoming a troublesome neighbour by the day, by the hour.......mine the border, and begin repatriating Afghan refugees and illegals; perhaps we should cancel a few trade concessions with them until that ragtag force they call an ''army'' can bring about at least some semblance of decency along our borders.

in the past 2 months alone, Afghan soil has been hostile one. When will we wake up and make them pay for their actions?

these kids should also have been careful...kidnapping is not new phenomenon in fact it's been going on for years and years....even within Pakistan itself, unfortunately. But an innocent mistake, and these koons across the border kidnap them on Eid day.

I hope they return safe and soon.

We pray for their lives but since terrorists from Afghanistan had recently attacked Bajaur areas many times and killed women children and men mercilessly and since some elements from your side are trying their best to create worst conditions in Bajaur so its likely they are going to use these kids as human shields for the purpose.

Bajaur strategically is very important and it was said its either win or lose Pakistan if the battle in Bajaur is lost which by grace of Allah our army won and fked the terrorists there

KHAR: Taliban militants have kidnapped at least 25 Pakistani boys who had mistakenly crossed the unmarked border in the country’s lawless northwest into Afghanistan, DawnNews reported.

Moreover, an AFP report said more than 30 boys were kidnapped in the incident that took place on Thursday after the group of boys, aged between 12 and 18-years-old, visited the area of Gharkhi in Pakistan’s Bajaur tribal region for celebrations marking the Eid holiday.

“These boys inadvertently crossed into Afghanistan while picnicking on the second day of Eid and were kidnapped by militants,” senior local administration official Syed Nasim told AFP.

Afghanistan shares a disputed 2,400-kilometre border with Pakistan where senior militants are believed to reside.

Another administration official speaking anonymously said security forces were stretched thin along parts of the frontier.

“It is a porous border and security cover is not available everywhere,” he said.

Whatever for where the boys taken?

those cavemen will probably try to molest those boys -- that's what they do there. The tribesmen --who are probably armed -- ought to cross over the border and get back their kids. Any resistance against them should be smashed.

.
I pray for their safe return, there are reports that 10 boys have been repatriated - yet to be confirmed by our special forces in the area.

Guys, I write this with no malice or intentions to troll.. But its uncanny how the feelings of most Indians towards Pakistan are today mirrored by feelings of a lot of Pakistanis about Afghanistan ...

No offence amber but this has nothing to do with india, we are just concerned about the fate of our kids.

huge difference;

Afghanistan is a brother country that is troubled (we ourselves have our troubles, which we arent denying or burying under the rug)

india however is an enemy country from the get-go; at least until they develop the maturity to solve the bilateral issue(s)

what my personal opinion is, is not something that necessarily mirrors the sentiments of everyone. My village is a few km from Afghan border. I've had to personally deal with criminals and bandits coming from their side (3 of which, fortunately or unfortunately, are no longer in this world)

it's bad enough having one bad neighbour.....having 2 is an even worse scenario. Pakistan simply needs to flex a little bit and remind our ''brothers'' that their misbehaviour will cost them. The crossover of ethnic tribes in itself is one reason why the 2 countries can't simply be cut off; but terrorists are exploiting this (and the porous border) and we cannot allow that

AZ I think sometimes, the State does not realize how powerful it actually is.

Such a big Pakistan to picnic but these geniuses choose to cross the border - Pakistan seems inhabited by morons

wow........TTP border police is more vigilant than NATO and Pak army. !!!!!!!!

Indians are picnicking in Afghnaistan since last 10 years but TTP have no grievances to that.

This is first time that this news is appeared, Pakistani children are being regularly smuggled out to India and Afghanistan.

When you mean State, do you mean the theoretical (GoP) or the actual(PA) ? And, How powerful is the state ? Is it powerful enough to prevent Osama being assassinated in Abbotabad right under its noses ? Or has it been powerful enough to end the continued civilian-whacking by drones in FATA ?

The state is powerful, but it is does not realize how powerful it is.
