for water based roles the AK series of rifles are excellent hence they are used a few SEALS used ak 47 in vietnam due to the very rough terrain,MARCOS were first to use m16's in the country,they are very secretive but thats navy media policy for them ,no identification of operators.now coming to the mo5's they are good for CQB ,FN P90 hasnt been used by many for that purpose except for vip protection,the mp5 is time tested and i'd call it "the AK47 OF CQB scenario" as for cqb SEALS,SAS,SBS all still use it with the new mp7.
a few infantry officers have said that army sf training is real hard and has standards so high which even the marcos find hard to emulate,one of the infantry guys was a sena medal awardee who is now retired as he left after 9 years of service(short service fellow)
amongst the naval special forces : SEALS,SBS,shayetet 13,MARCOS,GROM are amongst my favourite ,though SSG army is excellent but since i dont know much about SSGN i cant say anything about them.
