U.S. military poised to secure new access to key Philippine bases

I actually think it's not a terrible thing. China held off on land reclamation project on Huangyan Island due to improved relationship with Philippines during the Duterte administration. Such a project could be back on the table with the threat of American base nearby.

China would have string of bases (Yongxing Island, Yongshu Island and Huangyan Island) covering the entirety of South China Sea.

This thread is good for a few chuckles @Hamartia Antidote @jhungary @F-22Raptor
I recall CPC bots celebrating a Marcos election victory.

US secures deal on bases to complete arc around China

I am talking about extreme scenarios where the choice is between getting overrun by China or getting direct American military help
Philippines army has no tanks, no fighter aircraft, no warships, no submarines, no air defense, no nothing. The Chinese can overrun the Philippines before lunch. It relies 100 percent on US military support. I always laughed when the previous president Duterte wanted to end US support. He hatred the US so much that he was willing to throw his country under a bus.

Looks like it's time.
