What's new

Doctor's mindset

I learnt of another excuse doctors can make. Addressing this one also is futile because they have endless number of excuses up their sleeves. They keep coming up with new ones.

Anyway the latest excuse is as follows:
Downplaying the problem – saying things like, “This is nothing. This is zero. People have much graver problems that you haven’t seen etc.” They are wrong. Either the doctors are lying wittingly in order to get rid of the patient or they aren’t analyzing enough to understand the effects of the condition.

The main problem with today's doctor is: the new era has its own problems. Genetically modified or nutritionally defecient food is everywhere causing those problems, that humans never experienced(and many people can't even express them). Doctors traditionally, or normally, check for symptoms in the light of what they read, usually text books or online available material. Which are deficient itself. For example, copper is an essential substance for human body. And there are many such other substances which the soil is depleted now due to continued cultivation in same soil. See the symptoms of copper deficiency below:
https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/copper-deficiency-symptoms#section1

Doctors don't even check for such things. Similarly, there are many many chemicals which are now part of our regular diet(historically they were not), and their effects on human body are unknown.
So by these fact, we need a different class of doctors altogether.
So yes you are right, doctors mis many things, in fact they are not trained for new times.
Leave alone doctors or non-patients, some conditions/condition are/is so subtle that if symptoms wane even the sufferers may forget about it and start thinking that it was all in his mind and that it was his imagination.

Another tactic they teach to medicos at medical college:

Patient key haan mein haan milao. Patient se hazaar baar kaho, "Tumhari baat sahi hai." Lekin akhir mein diagnosis galat karo.

Most (if not all) doctors are uninterested in research. That's okay because not doing research is their prerogative. The grouse is they don't even give contact information to approach scientists. Doctors stonewall any request for this information.

CLARIFICATION:

Doctors can be trusted if the case (medical condition) is of already-discovered, well-publicised and taught-in-medical-schools type of disease. But if it's an undiscovered medical condition (by definition it is unpublicized and untaught condition), most, if not all, doctors are clueless and yet confidently make wrong-diagnosis - diagnosis that comes within the ambit of already discovered and publicised diseases. When the issue is of UNDISCOVERED condition, even doctors of highest of world standards do same mistake.

They make all kinds of mistakes.
