SubhanAllah.
The way I understand the man who is now the vice president of iran under Raisi was the man in charge of Baraka vaccine making it into mass production...8 months from deciding to develop an Iranian vaccine to mass production of that vaccine.....that is Fantastic..well done to all involved.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran inked an agreement with Indonesia to export its home-made surgeon robot named ‘Sina’ to the Southeast Asian country.

Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari virtually hosted Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin on Sunday. Also a delegation led by Indonesian Deputy Minister of Health Prof. Abdul Qadir met with Sattari in Tehran to discuss enhancement of mutual cooperation.

The main purpose of the trip was to sign a contract for the export of Sina robot surgeon to Indonesia and establish two centers for the promotion of advanced remote robotic surgery skills in Bandung and Djokjakarta.

During the meeting, a contract was signed between Sina Robotics Company (the Iranian side) and Indofarma firm (Indonesian side). Also, in the presence of Sattari, an executive document was signed between the two countries in the field of nanotechnology.

“We are ready to start mutual scientific and technological cooperation in the field of health with Indonesia and to develop any cooperation through joint ventures, technology exchange in various scientific fields, academic cooperation and implementation of research projects between the two countries,” Sattari said.

“Iran is ready to export all domestic products, medicine and equipment in the field of coronavirus to Indonesia. We can even produce these products in your country,” he added.

During the virtual meeting, Sadikin also said that Indonesia needs to buy medicine from Iran, and added, “Drugs produced with sophisticated and applied technology are needed. We also want to purchase Iranian medicine in the field of coronavirus disease.”

In 2015, the country had unveiled a surgeon robot named 'Sina' capable of carrying out surgical operations on patients from remote distances.

"The robot has an advanced performance in the field of remote surgery and corresponds to the American Da Vinci robot," the manager of the project to build Sina robot, Farzam Farahmand, said at the time.

"By this robot, the surgeon makes different moves using a monitor and two surgery arms on that part of the body which should go under surgery and he/she is connected to the patient with a number of cameras," he added.

Noting that Sina remote surgeon robot has been designed and built by Sharif University of Technology and Tehran's Medical Sciences University, Farahmand said that the robot is mostly used for abdominal surgeries.

Iranian experts in June conducted the first remote surgery on a dog by using a fully home-made robot, making Iran the second country in the world after the US with the capability to develop surgical robots. (not Japan, not Germany)

The robot has a surgical console that the surgeon can control and guide the surgery remotely by standing behind it and using two robotic arms.

Also a monitor has been placed next to the console that shows the image of surgery for surgeon clearly. The surgeon uses this system to control the surgery with a pedal and two robotic arms.

Lately Indonesia has been seeing 2000+ deaths a day because of Covid. They would be a good candidate to purchase vaccines and other medical related products from Iran. Overall the medical industry is an excellent field to invest in during uncertain times

I also dislike the fact that they keep reusing the same names over and over again. They need to get more creative. So far the project looks good. I want to see it fly though.

So what is this a reverse engineered Iran-140 ? I guess they're using the technology transfers they received to build this ? It would be great to see them resolve the issues they had with those planes. It makes sense since those planes are just sitting there collecting dust. I believe Iran has 7 in storage ?

Might as well fix the issues and put them to use right ? Hopefully everything works out and Iran revives the ones in storage along with building as many as they require. After this they can move on to larger scale projects. Reverse engineering a C-130 would be a logical next step.

As a side note, look at what the Americans are still doing with the C-130. Currently the AC-130J Ghostrider is flying sorties over Afghanistan. It's basically a modified C-130. It can be armed with a 25 mm gattling gun, a 40mm autocannon and a howitzer, all aimed at the ground with satellite guidance. It mostly flies at night and it can also drop basically any bomb you can imagine, including hellfire missiles, gliding bombs and more. It can carry 40,000 lbs of payload.

I f***ing hate when they keep reusing names.
