What's new

Look: Pakistan’s first metro “The Orange Line Metro Train” ready to roll out

I'm not saying u(personally) haven't tried. I'm saying that the majority of u(Sindh residents) need to vote them out otherwise it would be the same old crap over and over...nothing would change.

Karachi situation is complicated , when MQM was in power they did nothing for people , and now PPPP is in Govt for 8 years they did nothing except bring Wadera's and make them settled in Posh areas in Karachi where they drive with armed guards and be Gunday's and no one can touch them . In Karachi unless Federal Govt interfere , give justice to people and take on these Mafia's nothing will change, our votes make difference but in few districts/cities but majority of Sindh will remain under PPPP control because Sindhi people living in Interior they force them to vote for them , pay them etc .

.
Is it true that the Peshawar bus metro is on hold due to the fact that made the metro doors on the wrong side ?

the buses had doors on the right and metro doors on the left

so instead of changing the buses they are going to change the metro ?

or is this a false rumour ?
That's a little hard to believe - typically there is simultaneous 2-way traffic at various Metro stations, so the station should have doors on both sides (which is what the images of some of the stations show as well) so I don't see how the 'metro doors' are on the wrong side.

Any pictures of the Peshawar metro buses showing if they have doors on both sides or just one?

Right MQM is the same as PPP in my books. Under the leadership of either of those parties...nothing would change. If the federal government is formed by PPP they wouldn't interfere...if some other party forms federal government and tries to interfere, PPP paints it as if "the federal government is overstepping its boundaries" or "some other party is wrongfully targetting PPP". Under excuses like these and others...they create hurdles for the central government by joining hands with the opposition...stoke ethnic tensions by painting Sindhis(or Muhajirs in case of MQM) as some mistreated group...and other such tactics. The only solution I see is if they are booted out...any other attempt of working with them in the past has always been thwarted.

Typical patwari mentality

He is doing much better than ganja biradran Punjab is 36 districts not Lahore
What's the insecurity you have --- instead of comparing with others, tell us what this posti has done in 36 districts??

Look, stuff got done in Karachi when Altaf was powerful because the Sindh government had to essentially pay him off and look the other way (with respect to his criminal activities) - that was not a sustainable model for Karachi. With Altaf gone and the PPP knowing that Karachi isn't a major vote bank for them, the PPP has no incentive to do anything major in Karachi.

It's our misfortune that our politicians, instead of improving things to earn votes, choose to ignore & even punish people that didn't vote for them. The only hope I see is if the PTI manages to take control of Sindh government in the next elections.

I understand the role of pee pee pee today or what Mqm has done in the past

But the fact is that pti government hasn't done anything for Karachi despite having federal government and despite getting 14 national assembly seats from Karachi. Imran Khan came to Karachi only 4 time in these 15 months of pti government. Nobody from pti government cares about Karachi

To say the least the attitude of pti towards Karachi after getting votes from Karachi is simply disgusting.

That is why I have very low hopes with pti too when it comes to Karachi. I won't vote for them either in future

Karachi is nowhere on the priorities of Imran Khan or pti government

@Areesh and other Karachiites...get Sindh(and therefore Karachi) out of the hands of PPP goons. Vote these self serving mofos out...they have formed provincial government in Sindh for decades now with very little in the way of progress.

We Karachiites don't vote for pee pee pee anyways. It is people of interior sindh who vote for them

It's not federal govt's job, period.

Here is the problem that I come to read and listen to regularly nowadays, not from the Sindh government but from local journalists and administrators in Karachi. Though PPP is corrupt and more than that incompetent - and I abhor them for that - they have nonetheless attempted to do things in Karachi, small though they may be. However, there are "magical groups" in Karachi who cause disruptions with their magic. Sacks filled with large stones and rocks magically find their way in the sewerage quite regularly. Recently they found broken-down but large pieces of a motorbike in sewerage somewhere in Karachi. Though the quality of the roads is inferior they are magically dug up after renovation. Trash magically reappears in places which have been cleaned up. Red splatters appear overnight on freshly painted walls (I think there is haunting involved alongside magic). There is a lot going on. I think if we ask Mustafa Kamal nicely - whether we like him or not - he will definitely give us the names of few of the Bangali Babas involved in this magic and hauntings. He has dealt with them in another lifetime.

The above magic and hauntings happen in less posh areas of Karachi but posh areas like Clifton and DHA are sort of autonomous from Sindh government. Let's not start the debate on who is in-charge there. Yet! look at the buray halaat of the roads, cleanliness and the infrastructure of electricity supply here, and to think our current President was elected from these constituencies.

The objective of these Bangali Babas, Magicians, Blood splatting supernatural beings is simple; ensure that any government that is not of their making continues to fail, or at least, appear a failure in the city. Otherwise, there are examples of local administrators/authorities who successfully carried out improvements in law and order and infrastructure in Sindh. But once they were assigned similar tasks in Karachi they failed.

But that's one side of the story. Us Karachites are essentially thankless and indisciplined folk. This is true across the board. Whether we are waderas or choteras, Sindhis or Urdu speaking or Pashtoons, Punjabis, Balochis, Sirakis, etc, for that matter. The government doesn't clean up but did we ever manage our trash properly? They build a road once in a lifetime and the same road is put to a stress test by our bikers and truckers overnight. People keep taunting us for pan-ki-peek, for which we are easily offended but never try to correct ourselves.

Allah (SWT) says that He will give us the leadership of the same character as ours. For Karachi to improve, in fact for entire Pakistan to improve, we need to improve our characters.

This is not development it's called increasing your expenses
Phir IMF ka pass jao har 5 saal baad
Bro...IMF big is the wrong bit but we need to improve our infrastructure. Move away from old tech and improve public transport and create meaningful jobs.

Let PTI win another 5 year term after completing this one first.
That was implicit in my comment, which was to point out that the poster was comparing the performance one party that held power for 10 continuous years in Punjab with that of a party that has barely completed a year and a half in office.

It would appear the entrance doors on the Peshawar BRT buses are on the correct side.

No worries. Let the actual record of achievement, and not mere claims, be judged by the people fairly in elections, and never prematurely. That is the way it works.

sure, come back to Pakistan work for the betterment of people, show your worth/values and we will :)
Or I can give you biryani and you can vote for me :coffee:

Does that sound like an actual plan? Man you guys will fall for any stupid lie

Remind me how much the federal government gave the sindh government for Karachi alone?

Remind me how much the federal government gave the sindh government for Karachi alone?

You tell me

How much PTI government has given to provincial government and what it has done to ensure its transparent spending?

.
Congrats, it'll reduce traffic, pollution and provide hassle free travel. Also, they are not many metros that run on profit, so it'll always be subsidized by the government for the convenience of the people.

Here we made just one small line for $2.5 billion and that too overground (which is supposed to be cheaper).
Bangladesh is making it at around $8 billion almost similar distance.

Can't compare with Delhi, they're in business for more than a decade and half so they can cut cost from their past experience.

.
Give the PTI 10 years like the PMLN had and then we can compare.
How can you compare competent ones (PTi) with incompetent ones (PMLn) ----- Right now, Tabdeeli sarkar and it's supporters should be talking about the performance and not telling others that we will deliver but first give us 10 years.
