What's new

Look: Pakistan’s first metro “The Orange Line Metro Train” ready to roll out

You tell me

How much PTI government has given to provincial government and what it has done to ensure its transparent spending?
Federal government can't interfere in provincial affairs, including ensuring the transparency in expenditures. The PPP has diluted their own accountability laws, and they're fighting to prevent NAB from having jurisdiction over provincial corruption cases.

How can you compare competent ones (PTi) with incompetent ones (PMLn) ----- Right now, Tabdeeli sarkar and it's supporters should be talking about the performance and not telling others that we will deliver but first give us 10 years.
All I'm saying is that given the multitude of complex issues facing Pakistan and the intransigence of the bureaucracy & various interest groups towards reform & change, it will take a while for efforts to bear fruit. At the least we need to wait for the PTI's 5 year term to complete to properly gauge whether they've managed to move the country in the right direction, even if they haven't completely resolved all the issues.

Looks hideous like that newly constructed bridge

The direction is clear just within an year --- Mr Khan was given the PMship on a platter, he has missed the train. -----

I can understand what you are saying. PTI is trying to use 18th amendment to hide and cover its failure and its lack of interest to serve Karachi

However PTI government's lack of interest in Karachi is also clear from this one incident where supreme court forcefully took control of 3 government hospitals in Karachi and handed it to federal government giving them an excellent opportunity to serve people of Karachi to some extent

But what PTI government did? They requested supreme court to take back control and hand it to provincial government of Sindh

Federal govt decides to return control of three Karachi hospitals to Sindh govt

https://www.thenews.com.pk/latest/4...trol-of-three-karachi-hospitals-to-sindh-govt

The intent or lack of intent of PTI government when it comes to Karachi is very clear. 18th amendment can't hide this incompetency

As a member said. 15 months are enough to tell us about the direction of this government.

. . .
Demand from pti MNAs of Karachi to resign and re elect competent mqm no one in Pakistan has any problem with that

In next elections people would do that. No need for resign or anything like that

That's not federal governments responsibility, they gave karachi and sindh large sums of money. Next do you want them to send someone to clean your arse after everytime you go to the washroom? Why dont you ask your mayor where all that money went? Or are you going to just complain cause that's all you can do?

No no, all they can do is complain and bi%ch dont expect them to do anything else. Untill they get off their arse and demand change they wont get it.

You didn't answer my question

1. How much money PTI government has given to provincial government for Karachi?
2. What role it played to ensure that money is spent on the projects it is supposed to?

Karachi did't vote for party of mayor in last elections. It voted PTI.

Now tell us

Sindh government was up in arms over the 'violation of provincial autonomy' due to 'Federal control of those hospitals'.

The problem is that it's not just about having physical & legal control of institutions, disbursements to the provinces under the NFC have increased significantly because the 18th amendment transfers control & responsibility of things like healthcare to the provinces. So the Federal government just doesn't have the money to take control of healthcare & education facilities because it gave up control & money for those under the 18th amendment.

The Federal government is struggling to fund even those projects that are its responsibility under the constitution - it simply does not have the fiscal space (even if it has the intent) to take over provincial affairs.

In next elections people would do that. No need for resign or anything like that
And how is the MQM going to make the PPP invest in Karachi and improve services?

.
Imo, Karachi need a proper underground clean electric subway system. Karachi is over populated and need a proper project.

Sindh government was up in arms over the 'violation of provincial autonomy' due to 'Federal control of those hospitals'.

Federal government should have continued with its control and management of these hospitals instead of giving up to the rants of a corrupt provincial government

But then lack of interest of federal government in Karachi came in between and it decided to return these hospitals to the same corrupt provincial government against which there are several NAB cases

Then federal government needs to do something. 18th amendment is not good enough excuse to not doing anything for the largest city of Pakistan

There is a disaster unraveling in Karachi and people of that city voted for PTI making it possible for Imran Khan to be a PM

PTI knew about 18th amendment when it made promises to people of Karachi in general elections last year

Now it is simply running and trying to avoid delivering on its promises

The Federal government is struggling to fund even those projects that are its responsibility under the constitution - it simply does not have the fiscal space (even if it has the intent) to take over provincial affairs.

Then it is a failure of federal government

This is something else that we never saw any intent by federal government either

And how is the MQM going to make the PPP invest in Karachi and improve services?

MQM is the only logical replacement of PTI. PTI has missed the train

I agree they should be allowed to complete all 5 years. But then it should be Good Bye for PTI from Karachi after that

The last time some work was done in Karachi was under MQM mayor. So logically people would opt for them even if they might fail too

PS: I personally won't vote both MQM or PTI. I would ask my family and people I know to simply boycott any elections in Karachi unless necessary constitutional changes are made that can result in development of Karachi

.
Or I can give you biryani and you can vote for me :coffee:

Put a leg piece and 2 Aaloo and my vote is yours

It's not federal govt's job, period.

Than good luck doing anything in Karachi , PPPP is stealing the covers from Gutters , while MQM is stealing parts of vans who were bought to clean garbage .. As i said in my First post , Nobody give a F about Karachi , bas Revenue ke liye reh gaya hai Karachi , Kam Karachi wale karen aur Kaam Punjab mai ho ..

.
While as a Karachiite I feel the pain of my fellow Karachiites at the lack of development in our city but we should move that discussion to some other thread. Discussing it here is making it seem that Karachiites are whining about development in Lahore and are somehow jealous of it. Development in any part of Pakistan is essential and required.
