Lal Masjid cleric's murder case registered against Musharraf

ISLAMABAD: Police on Monday registered a case against former military ruler Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf over the alleged murder of cleric Ghazi Abdul Rasheed and his wife during the Lal Masjid military operation.

Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi of the Islamabad High Court heard the case pertaining to a contempt of court plea submitted in the court by Haroon Rasheed, the son of the deceased Lal Masjid cleric Abdul Rasheed Ghazi.

The petition had sought contempt proceedings against two police officials who had refused to register a criminal case against former president Gen (retired) Pervez Musharraf.

During the hearing Justice Qureshi remarked that failure to register a case despite the court's orders was tantamount to contempt of court.

The bench ordered the station house officer (SHO) of Aabpara police station to register a case against the former president on the spot at the court premesis and to provide the court with a copy of the lodged FIR.

Haroon Rasheed had earlier filed a petition against Musharraf for his involvement in the killing of his father and grandmother during the Lal Masjid operation.

When there is confusion over who is a good and bad in Taliban, when there is a good and bad in militants, when there is a good and bad in Muslim, what more can one expect?

Good and bad, fundamentally is a concept, which is defined by time and opportunity. This, provides maneuvering for the incumbent in power to twist the narrative.

But, this still raises questions.

1. Was he not killed in an army operation. Which means, sanctioned by the GoP?
2. Did they not fire upon the PA?
3. Did they not hold hostages?
4. Does this now mean that the GoP says, they were not militants or are they saying that militants should not be killed or are they saying he was not a militant carrying out operations against the GoP?
5. Or is it the judiciary saying he was not a militant? Because, then it would need to be argued, whether, he was declared a trouble maker or was it ever proven in court that he was a terrorist?

Lots of questions.

Sure , why not . Innocents children carrying weapons and wearing gas masks and firing at the security forces were being killed !

Its really shame Secur, Government is demeaning those soldier's sacrifice who lay down their lives for securing your country.. Until and unless these scumbag politicians family become the victim of these kind of terrorist activities, they wont understand the pain of ordinary people..

Its something beyond shameful actually . They do not even understand what example they are setting for others . Why would anyone want to fight the terrorists/militants when they fear that if they kill them , they will face prosecution by the courts of the same country they were fighting for ? Lets kill half the Nawaz Sharif and Iftikhar Chaudary's family and they will start to realize what curse these scumbags are !

This is a good decision but murder cases should also be registered against Gen. Tariq who was the commander of the operation and also against all officers and soldiers who physically took part in this operation. This will be the real justice otherwise it would be a selective and partial justice.

Why would they?
Meray bhai!

Our civil regime only thinks of looting money, corrupting, politicizing judiciary and LEA sectors to get clean chit and keeps racist cards to keep 'subject busy'.
What is strategy making, how to work on regional hegemony, foreign policy..this is too tough for them to plan, they are very low caliper and I dare to say that they have low IQ as well.

What the hell about those Madarsa Graduates and brainwashed kids who took up arms against the state and got killed in the process ? :azn: Nothing , right ? Selective and partial while enjoying life in the United States of America , hypocrite !

With people like these , do we need an external enemy ?

In otherwords, what are they going to loose even if your country was controlled by terrorists?? Most of them have luxurious flats and villas in USA and European countries.. They will be much safer there..

Oh, no...but another Marshal Law is what I expect!

Hold on my friend, let him speak.I want to see that how can he see our armymen as villains and those funded militants as victims ,I want to see why he thinks like that?
@Jungibaaz ask him these questions and also to those who are against the Jamiya Hafsa Operation:

-Isn’t abduction was contrary to sharia and Islam?

-Isn’t it contrary to Islam to built mosques in illegally captured areas? Why they run campaigns in this regard? Just because authorities have demolished illegally constructed mosque?

-Establishing your own sharia court and warning of suicide bombings in case of denial, what type of justice is this?

-Burning ministry office, and killing various innocent civilians and harming public property, how can we consider this as Islamic way of jihad? What is the definition of jihad then according to you?
ALL TRUE_; YES- ILLEGAL ACTIONs require police action not a full scale military operations; Using OUT OF PROPORTION force is a serious crime - A war Crime
MUSHARAF HAS BEEN SINGLED OUT AS THE POLITICAL AUTHORITY, NOT AS A GENERAL; MILITARY UNITS INVOLVED HAS BEEN GIVEN A CLEAN CHIT IN THE REPORT AS THEY WERE ORDERED TO DO THAT BY THE POLITICAL AUTHORITY!

-According to ISPR, weapons were recovered Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa complexes, were as follows:
Russian and Chinese variant RPG rockets, anti-tank and anti-personnel landmines, suicide bombing belts, three to five .22-caliber rifles, RPD, RPK and RPK-74 light machine guns, Dragunov sniper rifles, SKS rifles, AK-47s, pistols, night vision equipment, and more than 50,000 rounds of various caliber ammunition, where as Lesser sophisticated items and weaponry recovered from the complex included three crates of gasoline bombs prepared in green soft drink bottles, gas masks, recoilless rifles, two-way radios, large plastic buckets containing homemade bombs the size of tennis balls, as well as knives—
Thus how could be such equipment be discovered from innocent civilians and students?

-If they were innocent civilians with no weapons why, it took 36 hours to fully secure the complex and remove the booby traps?how they were mastered to create such traps?
THESE ARE ALLEGATIONS OR TRUTH - THE TENNIS MATCH WILL CONTINUE FOREVER, BUT JUST LISTEN TO MY SOLUTION FOR ONCE " CALL THE SOLDIERS AND OFFICERS OF THE UNIT WHO DID THE OPERATION AND THEN IN FRONT OF PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE OF WELL KNOWN POLITICAL PARTIES, MILITARY REPRESENTATIVES AND JUDICIARY THEY TAKE OATH ON THEIR HOLY BOOK AND TELL ACTUALLY WHAT HAPPENED" IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THIS SOLUTION THEN THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG-
PS I THINK THE INQUIRY COMMISSION HEARD SOME MILITARY PERSONALS INVOLVED , AT LEAST!

The problem is, the same people will be up against Marshal Law once it is done.. I have seen the pattern before also.. When your country is under democracy, you wanted military rule, when your country is under military rule, you want democracy.. You never find refuge in anything..Its one of the victory for those terrorists..

If the law permitted, I would have taken the cleric out, beaten him silly and curb stomped him.
Pakistani courts are no place for enemy combatants.
