To me it appears more of a case of intolerance rather than caring for animal. In any case the end result is death of animal, if they cared this much they would totally ban the slaughter. Or this must be the case of protecting and boosting business of slaughter houses.

Your law is not anti animal crueltry, if it was you'd only have free range meat and you'd only eat animals who died of natural causes. It is anti Jewish and anti Muslim, to create a hostile environment for the Greeks who are Muslims and Jews, so that they are forced to compromise on their faith or leave Greece as refugees.
