To take an analogous example, should people have to eat pork and beef in the cafeteria, instead of bringing their lunch from home, just to 'integrate' and be like everyone else?

To integrate in Germany, for example, we must differentiate the required from the optional. Learning German should be required; knowing German history, culture and laws should be required; interacting with men in normal situations should be (arguably) required.

However, there is no requirement to interact with half naked men or boys. The requirement in this particular case is for students to learn swimming, and that can be achieved as I described while keeping both parties happy.

This can be a solution where anti muslim sentiments arent high.

Germany is relatively progressive. Things may not be 100% fair, but life is never perfect and the Muslim community needs to find creative solutions for its concerns.

The best solution is to be smart and use the law of the land in your benifit without mentioning religion.

We shouldn't be ashamed of our religion, or make up lies to cover up. What is needed is a little creativity and thinking outside the box instead of getting angry and going to courts. The school board is clearly responsive and cooperative because they allowed burkinis. However, for parents who are still concerned, the private facility may be an option that could be negotiated with the school board.

If it was me i had asked to school to prove to me how swimming is an essential part of carricurum,because not all subjects are essential,students can take some subjects and leave other.

its not just a cultural thing, a girl growing in different environment develops different harmones which effect her way of interacting to surrounding, a girl may be too shy to expose her body, or maybe too liberal, its just about the medical aspect of it

The 'required skill' in question is swimming, not hanging out with half-naked boys. Since the latter concern is hampering compliance with the former, then a solution needs to be found.

There's no need to be confrontational with the host culture. The school board has met them halfway by allowing burkinis. If parents are still concerned, the private option should be negotiated.

But she's not being forced - she is not forced to go get an education. The school and the co-ed environment was always there. She came there, she paid or got on government funded program to be educated.

So she came to them. As far as their regular practice goes, you can argue on things that affect you only. So she wants to be fully clothed, she can do that, it does not affect anybody else... But if she is uncomfortable then thats her problem. The school or the boys should not be affected by her problems.

They can't make another class for her, who will pay for it all? Her parents? Might as well get home schooled then.
