Jinnah’s journey from an Indian nationalist to a Muslim separatist

This discussion is not about what Raja of Mahmoodabad (or some other Muslim Leaguers) wanted, it's about Muhammad Ali Jinnah's vision ... (The Raja anyway realized his mistakes later on and accepted Jinnah's vision)

Jinnah did not want an Islamic State, and it does not make him a 'traitor' (if you know what the word actually means)
Asw,
After reading your comments i have reached this conclusion that all is not lost in this land of pure. Still there are some voices of sanity. Some voices of truth who no matter what would dare say the truth with politeness. Kudos bro may God bless you. Ameen
This beloved nation needs more sane voices like you. Keep it up.
As far as Sharia Law implementation is concerned even Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) didnt implement it the way current mullah wants. Because if he had done so he would go against the very teachings of Holy Quran.
Where Allah Almighty says: 'There is no compulsion in Religion' etc
Holy Prophet saw was the Ruler of Madina and later on of Arabia.
did he impose Sharia Law on Jews, pagans, Christians????
When the Jews brought their problems to him they were given choice to get it solved through Torah not Holy Quran. So did he forget to force Sharia on them.
Christians from Najran came to him to do a Religious debate they were allowed to worship in Prophet's Mosque. They were not forced to follow Islamic Law.
When Holy Prophet saw migrated to Medina and was accepted by all (Muslims, Jews, Idolaters) parties as their Ruler. He made written pacts with them not one clause forces them to accept Islam as Law for them.
So the question arises why Holy Prophet saw did not impose Sharia Law on the citizens of Medina????
Answer is very simple those laws were not meant for non believing, I mean how can you force anyone to believe in you. Prophets of Allah are sent as Warners and Giver of glad tidings, as Mentors, as Guides, not as policemen.
Then there is another question which Sharia will you impose when Ummah is divided in to factions and sects??? Hanfi, Hanbali, Shafi, Ithnaa Asharia, Wahabi??? And then these have further and further divisions.
If for example you impose Shafi interpretation. What about followers of other schools of thought. Will you force them??? Will you go against the very Teachings of Holy Quran and Holy Prophet saw???

Last but not the least:
Who will impose Sharia Law???
These corrupt to the core politicians??
or these halwa lover mullahs???

Jinnah was a visionary and realistic leader
India was not founded on Hinduism.

Being secular and being a Muslim need not be mutually exclusive positions .. What's your point ?

Jinnah however said about Mullahs:

“We have to, a great extent, free our people from the most undesirable reactionary elements. We have in no small degree removed the unwholesome influence and fear of a certain section that used to pass off as Maulanas and Molvis”

Unfortunately, the same undesirable reactionary elements aka Mullahs hijacked Jinnah's Pakistan after his death

.
From my reading of history, this is a fairly accurate report. He even wanted to settle in Bombay and asked Nehru not to acquire or sell his Bombay bungalow. Even after Partition was decided, he picked up shares in Air India. Pakistan demand was his bluff on the negotiating table and Patel called it. Nehru was pretty much a show pony then - he didn't really have much power. Mountbatten was a pompous dimwit - all the bloodletting and riots of Partition are because of him.

Asw,
again very valid point.
These mullahs were given the chance by corrupt in competent politicians for their own political vested interests. This happened in 1948, 74. And in eighties they were accepted by Zia to prolong his illegitimate reign of tyranny, suppression.
So these twisted minds twisted our text books, our history, image of our beloved Qaid, and our mindsets.
Because of their monstrosities our Religion which was a source of inspiration, acceptance, love, tolerance, and spirituality. Another non tolerant rigid tyrannical pseudo religious philosophy came into being. Where anybody not agreeing with you is libtard, heretic hence infidel or kafir and should be put to death.
This mindset is one the biggest impediment in the progress of our beloved nation.
Thanks,
Adnan

For many posters here truth is difficult to digest but the truth is jinnah was a nationalist and secular. He was a ambassador of hindu muslim unity for making a united front against the british imperialists. For over the period of 40 years he was a uncompromising enemy of british invaders in the subcontinent. He was against partition .Pakistan and partition all started after 1940 in last 7 years. The hypocrisy of nehru, gandhi and congress turned a nationalist into a separatist .

Agree he first thought of united india and later for the rights of muslim community. But when he saw no other solution partition became a necessity for the long term survival of indian muslims. See how backward majority of indian muslims are today.

The Muslim community in India is even worse than the condition of Dalits in India.

The creation of Pakistan was the right thing to do.
