Hi,

So---the missile is following the path of the HOT EXHAUST PARTICLES that were emitted in the smoke.

Damn---had not heard that definition of a missile launch and lock definition prior to this---.

Where did you see me saying that? The Heat Seeker (like the name explains) follows the path of the heat left behind the plane, which is the hot gas coming out of the engine's rear nozzle / after burner. That source of heat is the target. That's why the missile is called a "Heat Seeker". I am sure you know the meaning of the term!!

Next, in short range AIM type of an operation, the Carbon doesn't really change much. In BVR, where missiles are fired from long distances, the heat remains in the air longer as the hot Carbon particles exist and they emit heat for a bit longer than just the hot air. So, the lock remains steady.

I am having a hard time in really understanding the fact that you don't understand basic Chemistry behind burnt Carbon that's hot (whether in the example above or if you did a BBQ), and you had tried to insult me by telling me that Chemistry and Physics wasn't mandatory in America, meaning we are effing dumb. And here you are, arguing like a child, and not understanding the basic principles of Chemistry and spontaneous combustion with Carbon. What a freaking joke!!

Next time you come on here, try having a combination of C6H12O6+H2O. That would give you some energy to write cohesive posts. I actually know Physics and Chemistry a lot more than you can imagine. If you want to talk about Quantum Physics, let me know.

So this is how smart you guys are on this forum. I addressed some Indian member with your attitude and he told me I was a Pakistani. Today, a Pakistani calls me an Indian. That's hilarious!!

Americans have run the globe for almost 100 years since the WWII. The Americans invented and still produce top line products. And you guys think we don't have people who know science?? How funny.

Because in the 90's, we had a boom and we needed more people so we brought smart people from India, doesn't mean we aren't educated. That's a dumb thought to have. IPhone wasn't developed by an Indian guy, nor was the JSF an Indian design, nor was Tesla's self driving car an Indian scientists dream come true. I am sure there were some part of those teams, but the invention comes from the American minds. That's the reality like Mr. Obama said a few months ago about the American invention and the rest of the world.

Anyway, the feeling is mutual, I don't like to speak to disrespectful old people. Not sure if you realized, you are the second person I've dropped the "Sir" for, from my post. I call everyone with respect but some people don't appreciate it.

By the way, its Watson, Not Sharma! I have a name my parents gave me. If you can extend some courtesy, you are welcome to call me Watson instead of butchering my entire family tree that eventually connects me to Sweden like 200 years ago!

So your point is pretty obsolete in today's times.

I can give you examples of 3 new technologies that can see a target in various ways that you've probably not heard about so far. But if you re-read the post above, we weren't talking about Thermal images. We were discussing the Heat Seeking missile and how they operate chasing after the Heat source. Thanks

Sir, Not everything is meant for production on the great PDF. It was a message to the writer of the post that he was off topic and he is a senor guy I believe. Bringing Laser guided warheads into a discussion about heat seeking missiles makes no sense. I would agree that the former is too advance, but that wasn't the topic. Thanks.

Nothing much but seems like whatever discussed already at PDF about JF-17 Block III, however few Key points in the read.

Just an article, published in Urdu media and not much reliable but guess work.

1. Mach 2.0+ engine is expected in Block-III with light weight material and generating less radar sign.

With DSI is Mach 2 possible?
