PESHAWAR (Staff Report) – PAF’s Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) has produced as many as 16 JF-17 Thunder jets for Pakistan Air Force in 2015, a statement said on Monday.

According to the statement, CAS Sohail Aman announced that production capability of PAC would further be enhanced up to 24 jets in 2016.

“In 2015 the aeronautical complex also produced the Airborne Warning And Control System (AWACS) in lowest cost and saved up to US$15 million by repairing a warship damaged in a terrorist attack on Kamra complex,” the statement added.

The JF-17 Thunder, which is often mentioned as country’s greatest achievement in aeronautics so far, was originally produced in cooperation with China at local engineering complex.

The JF-17 can deploy diverse ordnance, including air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles, and a 23 mm GSh-23-2 twin-barrel auto-cannon.

I have questions about JF-17's cockpit.
Is it a fully pressurized cockpit with temperature control ? & How many hours of oxygen does it stores for single sortie ?

Dosnt add up
50 Block I + 16 block II = 66 according to my sums

50 + 1 (the one lost replaced) + 16 + rest are in their testing stages with PAC

We saw the 216 in grey color which means 201-216 are inducted- and in the pic you can see 5 in yellow color, meaning they are under flight testing.

Actually it would be 49 Block-1. The JF-17 (10-127) that crashed back in 2011 never got a replacement unit. So there are potentially 49 Block-1 JFT's in service.

More rumors from H Khan:

It is confirmed that Myanmar will start to receive first of 16 JF-17 in January of 2017, this includes four dual-seaters. The deal is worth $256 million plus another $100 million for the weapons from China.

Second in line is Sri Lanka. Hopefully, during NS visit to Sri Lanka next month, the deal would be signed. Even though Bharat is trying its best to sway Sri Lanka's interest but because of pressure from China Sri Lanka is keeping the track.

Nigeria is still thinking.
