^ GOD.....hold it up boys, nothing coming new in March.
There's gona be a new Sqd of Thunder and Falcons.
By the way who told you guys that next version of thunder will reveal after the production of 50 aircrafts. there is no official news regarding new version of Thunder coming out so n so date or something else. :disagree:

Dear friends,
Aaslam
I m not an avaition expert but we do wanna see major upgradations to this bird in comming blocks to bring it closer to the upper end of 4th generation otherwise it is not wise to make it in bulk as it has to deal with 5th gen fighters. So the change most probably we wanna c are
1. A more potent engine
2. Next gen aesa radar.
3. Increasing stealthy features.
4. Next gen wapons.
5. Next gen avainics

Please bear in mind of the costs for such upgrade. Guys, lets be practical. You do not have a huge military budget and you need to replace 250 planes..

Deal with 5th gen? I don't even wanna talk abt that.

Yes, i do go with ur idea. At present it is surely impossible with our shrinking and sinking economic condition but we wanna c these changes being met within a time frame of 10 to 15. years. Dear friends we will definitely see that the whole structure of the major airforces will get changed after 2020 especially in our neighbourhood. so i think we have to, otherwise we have to compromise our security. We have already neglected one field of our defence that now finds hard to be somewere near to its rivals.

^^^ ive already posted it 2 pages back!

nice closeups of jf17 dsi - forgive me if posted earlier , but i dont think they were!

Hi friends.
What r the all possibilities by which the weight of an aircraft can b reduced without compromising its payload?

AOA. i wish blessing of ALLAH Subhanaotala to all pakistani and humanity loving people out their...............and for ur question i think...................jane use of titanium will do it. and i think nowadays high stregth fiber plastics is being used in car industry.... i read about in pakistan atmomic energy university.....so mix it with some other materials and u migth be able to get very strong material that wont reflect radar waves.....

The Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) is a guidance kit that converts unguided bombs, or "dumb bombs" into all-weather "smart" munitions. JDAM-equipped bombs are guided by an integrated inertial guidance system coupled to a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver, giving them a published range of up to 15 nautical miles (28 km).

Integration (JDAM)
Planned-Follow-on integration efforts are currently underway or planned to evaluate compatibility with:

Paveway IV is a new-generation dual mode GPS/INS and laser guided bomb for use by military aircraft.
The weapon is a guidance kit based on the existing Enhanced Paveway II Enhanced Computer Control Group (ECCG) added to a modified Mk 82 general-purpose bomb with increased penetration performance

The GBU-12 PAVEWAY II laser-guided bomb is an American aerial bomb, based on the Mk 82 500-pound general-purpose bomb, but with the addition of a nose-mounted laser seeker and fins for guidance

increasing engine thrust to accomodate additional ammunition won't serve the purpose...as the wing area remains same in both....this leads to higher wing loading which would in return decrease the sustained nd instantaneous turn rate of the aircraft..wing loading is a direct measure for turn rates of an aircraft..

you see those rivetting joints ..even if the aircraft is small or made of composites ,it wont matter....exposed rivetting joints are the main cause of higher RCS..

Expose fan blade and carrying large number of external ordance are the main cost of higher RCS..

Rivetting joint do contribute to RCS but its not as serious as you sound.

Main purpose of composite is to reduce weight.

Hi friends.
What r the all possibilities by which the weight of an aircraft can b reduced without compromising its payload?

Using large number of composite but that will bring up the cost and maintenance which defeat the main purpose of JF-17 as an affordable modern fighter jet.

hi friends,
can anyone elaborates what type of composites are used in aircrafts...... i read about some mixture of non metalic things.....can any body provide me accurate details....thanks in advance

True, but the overall RCS of the fighter is the biggest part, while external loads will add to it only. Reflections of the fanblades are even the smallest part and not an big issue with modern fighter design anyway. Using composites will not only reduce the weight of the fighter, but also the ammount of radar reflecting materials, while you can add a higher ammount of RAM coatings on the other side as well, without loosing performance. So directly, or indirectly it has an effect on the RCS of course.

Btw, there were always the talk about PLAAF getting some FC 1 as well and if so, they would have compared the RCS with J 10 as well isn't it? Is there any reliable report, comparison, or anything else about it?

^^^ the chinese forums say that china cant revamp all there j7 , a5 squadrons e j10 --- so they have a tossup between jf17 and someother light fighter on the lines of L15 -- most ofcourse favour jf17 , but are waiting for a chinese engine for it

regarding rcs , chogy speculated its near f16 , nabil hinted it was close to f16 blk50s

ive read the frontal rcs of jf17 was reduced by 30% , upon introduction of dsi in jf17 prototype4
