Maximum Thrust is wrongly printed....plus what about upgrade details? I mean upgrades which have been done, not expected?

why its wrongly printed ??

19,200 Lbs equal to about 85kN or somewhere around 8600-8700kgf, which is also the figure given in the official page of the engine manufacturer, which gives 8000-9000kgf.

Problem is, we don't know which engine variant it is and what is the thrust with which it was given to Pakistan.

As said, these specifications are from 2008, some modifications, changes would have been done after that, plus future upgrades are not mentioned, and what kind of upgrades are you looking at ??

And also do remember, many times, rather most of the times, what the manufacturing country is using is not the one which is shown or is available for export.

So what PAF is gonna use or would have specifications, the export models may not have.

JF-17 for Airshow China

Pakistan is to send three JF-17 Thunder fighters to Airshow China 2010.

Gary Parsons - 6-Oct-2010

October 6: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is to send three JF-17 Thunder fighters to Airshow China 2010 at Zhuhai in the Guangdong region between November 16-20.

Following the type’s international debut at this year’s Farnborough International Airshow in July when two aircraft attended the static display, the PAF is to send an additional aircraft to Zhuhai to take part in the flying display.

The JF-17 is a joint Chinese/Pakistan design known as the FC-1 Xiaolong in China developed by the China Aviation Industry Corporation (CATIC) and Pakistan industry.

Why not CFT for JFT?
It will give edge to JFT in multirole market.

i dont think there is any "efficient" place to put them on...
just sticking up two CFTs on the fuselage wont help......it will create lots of drag. so basically we'r adding more fuel and travelling the same distance....(range will improve BUT VERY SLIGHTLY!)

and btw we cant even think about putting CFTs on thunder because current engine is not powerfull at all...
we probably will have to wait for the chinese one! then PAF can put CFTs....but till then we have to make this fighter work...

CCTV Programme about jf17 :smitten:

use google translate

Reply you can see, I hope you like it, thank you:)

This program is very good, the JF-17 the first third-generation light fighter and the world are compared, such as MI-29, F-16, including the LCA, and the second generation of the IDF and so on.
Then, said the JF17 in Pakistan with F-16A / B against the results can be regarded as an official leak Oh (two machines linked to the case of short-range missile tests conducted the interview said that JF-17 seems to have not yet linked to SD10)
Especially first-time exposure of the JF17 is using radar, the original technology used in radar is ..... XXX! ! ! As an outsider, you absolutely can not think of Oh!
At the end, talking about the JF-17 export prices, and which countries to buy, to talk about the 6,7 naming it, to see this show guests, talking about things that have taken reasonable!

Finally, Professor Li Lifu always smiling, very pleasant!

In the end is the premium channels, programming with a large number of the video and pictures, 99% are correct, at least I just found a marked wrong.

Why do you think place is not there?
More or less same location as F-16..... attached to the fuselage above the wings.
I believe drag shall be less than compare to drop tanks!
With the available engine... sure compromise had to be made with payload... while i believe a2a missiles have less weight than a2g weapons.
Therefore, in presence of CFT and loaded with a2a missiles aided with aerial re-fueling, it can assume the role of area defence and an effective escort.
In present times while Pakistan's defence lines are extending JFT has to be adopted to developing needs.
It will also be good for naval support.

Our defense lines are not expanding. The offensive punch is.

We know we have to fight against a bigger force in future. So we better have our own offense.

I am assuming F-17s will provide escorts to J-10s?

F-16s will guard the skies back home?

Don't know....but it will be a challenging task for PAF to modify from current Mirage/F7/A5 to F-17/J10/F-16 all bvr planes.

Why does J-10 need escort?..... it has enough hard points and maneuverability.

CFT..... fits more to the job as compare to hanging drop tanks, which will occupy limited hard points and sacrificing either maneuverability or range.
