JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

I suppose the JF-17 Block 3 will be available in enough numbers to replace the Mirages now.
Issue is not replacement of mirrages but no increase in no of f16s to the planned level of 110 to 125 fighters and uncertainity over approval of upgrades ...

PAF is indire needs of logged leg multirole fighter which was suppose to be the f16s but in 1990s than in 2006s and than now it misses on the opportunity for multiple reasons

Currently its waiting on approvals from US which will not come..

What interim fighter if any will PAF get

But how about a 30% bigger JF-17 with the WS-10? That will put it in the F-16 class. Or else there's the J-10.

Mu guess is b3 will be 10-15% bigger than b2 with 100kn engine
Still its way behind CFT based F16C/D whose engine theust and MTOW is almost twice

So you want JF-17 to be almost the same size as the F-16 with with only an engine that half as powerful?

Even with 100KN engine, you can get F-16 class range and payload like they managed with the Gripen E, 6T of payload and 4200Km range with tanks. The MCA is also being designed to lift 6.5T and with very long range. The JF-17 can take the same road, it's possible.

no that's not problem, the main problem is that our corrupt politicians looted to much money, and remember in 2006-7 president of Pakistan Musharraf visit China on that visit he visit JF-17 and J-10 production facilities in China and after that visit Pakistani cabinet approves 36 J-10 purchase from China but unfortunately the next govt ZARDARI govt had eat the procurement funds of J-10 @undertakerwwefan

Gripen e numbers are not correct when you look at the * sign you will understand ..

e.g gripen states the payload is at 50% fuel which is stupid..while simultaneously quotes the range being empty.. ...

A better number which cannot be messed up with is MTOW

which gripen E is 1600kg and F16E is 21000kg almost 35% difference

So you want JF-17 to be almost the same size as the F-16 with with only an engine that half as powerful?
Nope..i am just stating the obvious difference and why PAF needs f16 /j10s
