Khamenei Was Right

Ever since Iran started negotiating the nuclear deal, Khamenei had been sceptical that the west would implement it without trying to subvert Iran. He made his opinions very public. And it looks like he was right.

"I told you so"

The JCPOA was the first major diplomatic agreement made between Iran and the West since the revolution. It only took 3 years for the US to upend it, which it now looks imminent to do so.

I remember perfectly when he said Americans won't stand on their words but you want to test it so try.
JCPOA was bad defeat for Mr president.
My scenario is that next Parliament election will be start of the rising of the new young principalists against old clans of reformists.

reformists also r busy to shape future of their spiritual leadership. They need one base to all gather around it.

I wonder why you guys always mix Moderates with Reformists , while they are 100 time closer to Principalists and 99% of them are former Principalists .

Since we're reflecting on the past and waxing the future I want to add that 80% of our problems comes from our rather bankrupt behaviour towards America. Let me explain, the Death to America chants at Friday Prayer, the Khameni, Ahmadinejad, (also other hardliners) speeches, the old Iranian routine of you hurt us and now we will take our ball and go home attitude is the cause of all our pains and problems. The idea of clergy governing a country or court system or diplomatic relations is a joke. We need professional bureaucrats. Just like we need a professional soliders running the military or a banker running the centeral reserve. These guys need to read Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" or Machevelli's "The Prince" to understand the playing field. Just imagine if they had grit their teeth and opened relationship with America, the same way the Chinsese are doing it or how Russia was doing it pre Putin. We could have a modern miltary, an expanding economy, an natural center of trade for Europe and Asia instead of UAE. We could have put down Saddam in 2 years with the help of the West. I'm not advocating we kiss their ring or become subservient like the Arabs, I'm simply suggesting to use them for all they'e worth. Unforutantley the empty reheotoric of defiance and the Iranian nature of "I'm breaking up with you" has caused us great harm.

Times have changed a great deal to Reagan’s attempt to bring the IRI back into US influence.

Unless Iran is ready to recognize the state of Israel and sign a peace treaty with Israel. Guarantee Israel’s security in the Middle East against any threats, then There will be no alliance with the US.

And if Iran were to do that, it basically destroys the whole foundation and philosophy that the Islamic Republic was built upon.

Iran’s elite know this, it’s a dangerous slope where the government could collapse from
Within because it’s own guidelines, values, existance was undermined by its own hypocrisy.

against reformists and hypocrite principalists.

reformists also r busy to shape future of their spiritual leadership. They need one base to all gather around it.
They are a dead movement, no shared goal, no shared ideology, no shared plan. They can't even choose a mayor!
right now, covering their corruption and mistakes is their only base.

You r right but the case is that old fronts of Iran political is disappearing and we are facing with Two main front which each shape by different groups if you like we can call it left and right. The right front need to wash itself and allow young faces to enter if they want to survive.

against reformists and hypocrite principalists.
hypocrite principalists need go out before people finishing them.

not even that, eventhough that kind of people exist among them.
Reformist movement (as a whole) don't represent no one, but they play opposition to get votes, who would believe that once these people were demanding to attack Israel while Iran was busy with Iraq?

Their most recent example was blocking the telegram, government itself sent a delegation to Russia to consult it's blocking, but after it blocked, the very same Minister who said Telegram is the terrorist's playground and should be blocked, said I didn't agree! they even created a rumor that he has resigned as a protest. their trick is playing opposition even against their own decisions.

Long live Ali Khamenei, He proved that he knows yankees better than they know themselves.

I understand the quasi-filial affection for your leader
but the facts have a context that relativizes your view :

Had Trump not won the presi-fancy, the accord would
have been respected.

_-_-_-_
I hope this "victory" doesn't affect Iran's best answer :

Respect integrally the pact with those signatory that
still want it ... [ drives a wedge between USA 'n others ]

Refrain from revenge calls and shift to calm pity at one
so quick to renege their word ... [ maxing image points ]

Refuse politely but firmly to renegotiate the present deal
but not refuse a further one past it with the idea that as
Iran was the offended in this case, a concession of some
sort is the logical starting point ... [ a concession to Iran ].

Great day Cthulhu & all, Tay.

it takes 2 to tango.

This is only possible if there is mutual respect between the sides. Iran is covering that exact middle ground where were not as big and strong as china where the US could strike a grand deal. but were not weak and small either to be toppled/pushed aside.

so its this sort of stalemate were in right now. In fact Iranian strategy (and American) with the JCPOA may have been moving in this direction. The rouhani camps long term goals were to normalize relations with the West. And use that leverage to get better deals from the East.

this would have actually benefitted the west as well long term. as it would create a little western leverage over iran again. if the Iranian economy prospered, Then iran would have been far more vulnerable to future economic blackmail. This is actually what terrified the hardline camps. increased western leverage, and iran slowly drifting towards the western camp. This is seen as an existential threat to the hardliners, and its the reason they despise rouhani and the nuclear deal so much.

all that is out the window now. Trump is in power surrouneded with Zionists and neo-cons. and he wants to turn the clock back to the 80s/90s of "regime change". "containment" "getting involved in messy middle east conflicts to cockblock iran" etc.etc..etc...

were back to the bush days again. Iran is seen as a small pariah that must be bombed or regime changed. and this is a grave miscalculation on the part of the americans. Its a road that either leads to war or one side accepting humiliation. and its the path the Zionists are trying to force on the americans. Fight iran to the last American.

I agree, normalizing relations would have been beneficial to all but alas the AIPAC machine along with Kushner and Bannon were in the driver seat of this policy. Also, I agree about that Rouhani's plans were also frustrated with the hardliners. So what to do now? Word on the street is it Trump is pulling out on May 12th for sure. Europeans are still in but Iran is not. Sanctions will be back so then what?
