Japan's best strategy to defeat China at sea

izumo-23.jpg

Why USS Wasp with few feet longer could launch F35 but Izumo can't ?
Correct your post that Izumo much longer than Hyuga not vice versa.

Do you hear about Liaoning recently ?
If Liaoning could be ok, why they don't give it full fleet of J 15 ?
The pilots could automatically take off from Liaoning without exercises ?

Not the same steel made deck, since the deck of the Nimitz class was made by much stronger steel material which was designed to withstand the heat of the fixed-wing aircraft's engine and the landing impact.

The Nimitz class displaces around 100,000 tons, while the Izumo class is only 1/4 or 1/5.

The reason for that: China navy never been able to dominate Japan navy.

Nope, China has successfully decimated Japan's navy back in the 16th century.

Japan only managed to score back in the 19-20th century when China was at its weakest moment.

Yeah, with a payload around 500-1000kg, it is surely going to be deadly.
In the end all of this depends on how profitable it is, there are already conventional bombs causing the same effect, bringing a 1000kg object to space isnt cheap, its only feasible if it has other features thats worth enough to bear its costs, othervise its good enough to show off the technolgy, but who knows what will happen in the future, all we can do is speculating atm.

The JMSDF is the Legacy of the Imperial Navy. The Imperial Navy ever has decimated the Chinese in any and all engagements throughout history. Why, even when their Beyang Fleet outnumbered ours, still the Imperial Navy gutted their Beyang Fleet , forcing it to the depths of the East Sea.

Naval wise, JMSDF can eviscerate the PLAN.

:)

This is probably irrelevant but Japan actually had the larger navy in 1895, and much better trained and maintained.
China stopped importing ships for 6 years or so because the Queen wanted to use money else where, as a result this following chart.

The number of our nuclear sub is way off in this chart.

In fact, the real gap is even much bigger than in this chart.

The Empress Dowager Ci Xi was, indeed, fond of her many lavish ( and expensive ) summer palaces, wasn't she?

China cannot challenge Japan's navy right now.

Maybe with 10% growth for another 10 years. China's navy still filled with cold war junks, due to constitutional limit, Japan frequently retire ships well before schedule so that its platform are the most modern in the world.

Technologically speaking, Japan's ships are at least 10 years ahead of China's most modern ones. 50 years ahead of China's cold war junks.

The Qing Dynasty was destined to collapse, so it was nothing surprising that the Imperial Japan as a rising colonial power managed to beat them.

But today's PRC is a rising Great Power, so to completely antagonize it is not a smart idea.

Cold War junks?

We have built 6 Type 094 and 7 Type 093 after the Cold War, now we have started with our Type 096 and Type 095.

What does Japan have?

Some outdated watered down Arleigh Burke and Stirling AIP subs.

China can pretty much pull out 20 new nuclear subs and 30 Aegis warships in this decade.

Summer Palace for a few battleships is a good deal IMO. Look at long term value, ships from 1895 are almost useless right now.

A true masterpiece, one of China's many cultural sites listed in UNESCO. How much do you think you would have to pay to own that? 100B?

In naval conflicts, entire navies are mobilized but it is the active fleets that determine the battle outcome.

For example in 1894 during the battle of Yalu River, the Beiyang Fleet had numerical and firepower advantage. Their forces included 2 heavy battleships, 8 cruisers, 2 heavy corvettes and 2 torpedo boats. The Imperial Navy sent a flotilla of only 9 cruisers , a corvette. The Chinese had the decisive advantage ---- yet they were eviscerated by superior Japanese training and fleet combat tactics. The Beiyang Fleet lost 9 ships of the line. Japanese side none.

The tactical advantage during the modern warfare era is pretty much gone.

The weaponry advantage is the decisive factor right here.

China has by far the more deadly offensive weapons, that's why the modern Japan should avoid to fight against the nations like China and Russia alone.

In theory, China should have had the firepower advantage, but in reality, the ships ammunition were old and didn't work. The chinese navy didnt train enough and didn't even maintain their ships.

I think PLAN won't make that mistake again. Their ships will be maintained this time.

This comment just showed how ignorant you are, any person who truely understand a bit of chinese history knows how much china has lost by wasting ressources into the summer palace instead of a few "old battleship which would be useless by now".
