Israeli super radars set to give LCA fighter jet enhanced combat capability

What is super radar? A radar from alien or Mars? I only know Dopple Pulse , AESA or PESA.

Or OP wants to claim Israeli are aliens and not from this world? No wonder they are claimed to be invaders of Palestine.

Sir, simply 'super' means, an item is in Indian arsenal. If same item owned by others it becomes a 'crap'.

IAF has chosen 201 indigenous MCAs.

We are not worried about that.

The LCA was always expected to use the Israeli radar, it's a bit ahead in the development curve. Plus, we are already getting the older EL/M 2052 for the Jaguars.

The other radars use different technology.

For example, even we have started the induction of ground based GaN radars.

India is sending out an RFI, which shows Tejas is not enough to meet the needs of the IAF.

The other radars are using ”other technologies”, as in inferior technologies.
You do not build a Super Radar with inferior technology.
The ELTA radar is ahead of what?
In what way?

Talk is cheap...

Dam after 33 years you made a plane with engine and radar from import source...

didnt realise painting was such a hard skill....

but watch all these indians defending incompetence is truly hilarious

Very true...just look at Pakistan...they are able to paint their jets from day one and have been doing that for more than a decade.

Super radars

Another nut on desi tejas and it will become a super nut for bharati trolls:lol::lol:

Unfortunately people do not know the research prowess of the small country called Israel. Their research in almost every field of science is on par with the giants like US etc. In terms of quality they are ahead of players like China, India etc.
I dont care whether Israel is on par with anyone, but please do not place us in the indian category, this really make us sick, you indians are in a special category .thanks .

But we don't called it our INDIGENOUS product but JOINT VENTURE, sorry kid to burst your bubble this palace is not for yours go play your toys @RoyalEnfieldBullet500 :suicide::suicide2::lol::enjoy: more than 70% software hardware on your cowpiss junk, out of this universe 1000000000000000000000000 Tej@$$ is foreign based tech and still called it your INDIGENOUS FCUK, do you know what is the meaning of INDIGENOUS @RoyalEnfieldBullet500 kid :hitwall::lol::rofl::enjoy:

Just learn to ignore this crap. U will find many articles with this low quality journalism, where the author lets his/her nationalism seep in, instead of being objective. This is how a radar can become a "super radar" just bcuz it will be integrated on an Indian jet.

Hi @randomradio
The radar in question is not equipped with GaN T/R modules. It has traditional GaAs modules only. According the Dr Christopher, they are still perfecting the GaN T/R modules technology. For now they have achieved figures like 40W/transmitter whereas their goal is to boost this figure to 100W/transmitter. I am talking about individual T/R modules and not the planks!
He also mentions that they had to design the GaN modules because western companies simply refused to supply GaN modules in bulk. It clearly shows the western bias, they will not not transfer cutting edge subsystem in niche areas.
Lol the guy u r addressing always talks without any proof to back up his claims. I've tried engaging on facts based discussion with him a few times and found it to be a waste of time.

Also don't mention to him the refusal of western companies about the transfer of cutting edge systems...he claimed earlier that US will provide India with the capability to manufacture F35s...also without any proof whatsoever to backup his claims.

The radar in question was a prototype with GaAs. The production variant is GaN with DBF.

We had already prototyped GaN back in 2011.

Well, of course. India needs 700-800 new fighter jets. It won't be fulfilled with Tejas alone.

As for the LCA program, there are now two jets. One is the LCA Mk1A, Gripen C class, and the other is a new MCA, Gripen E class. The MCA is the one that replaced the F-16/Gripen E competition.

So the IAF will be procuring 123 Mk1A, 201 MCA and 200 Rafale.

The 2052 radar is already operational and being integrated on IAF Jaguars as we speak. Saab is still some years away from actually flight testing and operationalizing their radar. Isn't that proof enough?

Lol making up shit as usual.

Well mate ,
first the expression is " Damn!!!" not "Dam" .
Quick facts- India since Independence has made nearly 5000 small and large dams on the other hand Pakistan has made less than 75.

Coming to the discussion .
How many Asian countries can make a military grade Low bypass turbofan with a dry thrust of 50+ Kn --- Only 2 China and India
How many Asian countries can make AESA radars of all sizes --- Only 5 China , Israel , Japan ,India and Turkey
How many Asian countries can make AESA radars to fit the nosecone of a fighter aircraft - 3 China , Japan and Israel.

The home grown Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) is set to be equipped with Israeli super radars that will give it the combat edge to engage multiple air and ground targets simultaneously. Israeli firm ELTA is likely to shortly bag an order for a new set of AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radars for an air force order of 83 LCA Mk 1A jets.

The Israeli firm appears to have beat off competition from French firm Thales for the contract that has been in the works since 2016. Sources said that advanced negotiations are now on to finalise the contract at the earliest for early delivery of the combat enhanced jets to the Indian Air Force.

The ELTA radar is a derivate of the EL/M-2052 Active Electronically Scanning Array (AESA) that has also been equipped onboard the Jaguar DARIN III fighter jets of the air force. It has been selected for the LCA program ahead of the French Thales RBE2 radar derivative. Earlier, other suitors including the Americans and Swedes dropped out of the competition.

The integration of an AESA radar is a pre requisite to the air force order that also mandates equipping the fighters with beyond visual range missiles and an electronic warfare suite. The radars give much more range and engagement potential to fighters, enabling them to engage targets from a distance without getting detected. The AESA will give the LCA an edge over fighter of a similar weight category that are operating in the region with conventional radars.

The Jaguar DARIN III is India’s first fighter jet to be equipped with AESA radars with 58 of them being integrated currently onto the fleet. The deep penetration fighter fleet got a big upgrade with the new radars, significantly increasing the air force’s capability to carry out cross border strikes.

AESA radars have replaced conventional systems at the heart of all modern fighter aircraft – be it the Dassault Rafale and Boeing F/A 18 other than fifth generation jets like the F 22 and F 35.

So lets get this right.

Engines from a western source.
Air frame from a western source
Radar from Israel.

ZERO sanctions on technology transfer from anywhere in the world.

But TEJAS is a indigenous plane of tomorrow.

:rofl: good joke:rofl: where is your Kaveri @Indian wonk ;):enjoy::suicide::suicide2::sarcastic::haha:

Kaveri is a Low Bypass Ratio after burning turbofan engine featuring a six-stage core high-pressure (HP) compressor with variable inlet guide vanes (IGVs), a three-stage low-pressure (LP) compressor with transonic blading, an annular combustion chamber, and cooled single-stage HP and LP turbines.

Dry thrust - 52 KN
Wet thrust - 82 KN
( Not enough for high g , high alpha maneuver for Tejas) . It also had other problems related to metallurgy like using directionally solidified blade which couldn't handle high TeT ( Turbine entry temp ).

Since when did the airframe come from a western source?
