Israeli special forces invade Gaza, 6 Palestinians and 1 Israeli soldier killed

Israel killed 20 Hamas gunners, Hamas killed 1 Israeli soldier and 1 poor Palestinian citizen. Great victory for Hamas.
You killed 20 hamas gunners but what war aims did Israel achieve though? Your citizens knew your country was taking a pounding from "terrorist Gaza" that they thought was too much/unbelievable. If not why did your ministers resigned? Also whats the economic damage you guys took from the 500 rockets? cuz we know your Iron Hole didnt intercept many rockets and they hit homes and critical infrastructure. Oil and gas infrastructure in Ashkelon has to be repaired too. SMall Gaza packed big punch on Bigger Israel. thats facts. If this is what Hamas is giving you in 2018, we can conclude you cant smash Hezbollah. I already know that, but blockhead like you will prefer evidence. You have better weapons and technology, your enemies seem to have better determination.

This isn't about battlefield performance, it was a dangerous ceasefire violation, so your discussion with 925 boy aside. Hamas lost 6 members during the incident. 5 other Palestinians soldiers that were killed in following air strikes were not from Hamas.

1) SF mission was to plant listening devices. Group was exposed and 7 Hamas members and 1 Israeli soldiers were killed in the clash.
2) Then Hamas started firing hundreds of rockets at Israeli civilians, but all they achieved is dozen more killed Hamas members and 1 poor Palestinian civilian killed by Hamas rocket.
3) No one claimed that Iron Dome gives 100% protection. It shots down 90% that means if you fire 500 rockets 50 will go through.

Hamas is building tunnels into Israel which are deigned to kill and hijack, thats far bigger violation of ceasefire.

3 IDF soldiers lightly hurt in ramming attack in Gush Etzion.

'palestinian' terror merchant liquidated on the spot.

There's nothing called Gush Etzion, it's an illegal settlement in the Palestinian West Bank. Palestinians there need mortars to fire at Israeli settlements in order to successful evict the trespassing armed and dangerous foreigners.

:omghaha:

Everyone knows Gush Etzion is part of Israel. Even the 'palestinians' didn't claim it in past negotiations. The minute those squatters fire mortars from the 'west bank', the tanks roll in and the 'west bank' economy crashes.

Have a look at some pictures from 2000-2004 era in 'west bank' when the sharmutas started the intifada. The place was a warzone.

Only a Muslim from Dearborn would talk tough about firing mortars. palestinias don't want to go back to the 2000's.

So now the Palestinians have an economy, I thought you said they live off foreign aid.

Thanks to Israel they have an economy, but also line their pockets with Arab & western aid.

A far cry from the days where boys needed to spend the night in Arafat's bedroom to make some coin.

Hamas calls on UN to support Palestinians’ right to bear arms against Israel

Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh has called on the United Nations to recognise and support the Palestinian people’s right to bear arms against Israel in self-defence.

Haniyeh wrote to UN General Assembly (UNGA) President Maria Fernada Spinosa in advance of the organisation’s debate regarding Hamas rocket fire into Israel.

“We reiterate the right of our people to defend themselves and to resist the occupation, by all available means,” wrote Haniyeh, “including armed resistance, guaranteed by the international law.” He based the demand on international law drawn up and implemented by the UN, which gives states and peoples the right to defend themselves with arms if necessary, in the case of an external attack.“The General Assembly of the United Nations adopted dozens of resolutions that affirm the right of peoples to independence, self-determination and struggle by all available means, peaceful and non-peaceful, for that right. The UN singled out the Palestinian people for dozens of relevant resolutions, including 2621, 2649, 2787 and 3236,” he said.

After condemning the US for adopting Israel’s narrative of the conflict and justifying Israel’s aggression towards the Palestinians, Haniyeh insisted that “the last of these efforts is the attempt by the United States Ambassador to the United Nations…to submit a draft resolution condemning the Palestinian resistance and the right of our people to defend themselves against this racist and continuous occupation for more than seven decades.”

Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, commented on Haniyeh’s letter, saying that Hamas “going to the UN for assistance is like a serial killer asking the police for assistance. Israel and the United States will continue to mobilize the countries of the world into a united front against the terrorism that Hamas engages in.”

...The quote from the Additional Protocol refers to the idea that ALL armed groups must adhere to the international laws that protect civilian war victims (the preceding paragraph.) Meaning that it says that Hamas - if it is to be regarded as a freedom fighting group - is violating international law by shooting rockets to Israel, the exact opposite of what Haniyeh claims.

Hamas is a Palestinian national liberation movement that seeks by all means to defend its people in order to achieve their basic rights. This comes within the context of the legitimate defense and response to the continuous aggression against the Palestinian people. This right is guaranteed by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, which represents a solid basis for the legitimacy of the struggle of the Palestinian people, individually and collectively, for independence and self-determination.

Article 51 says "Nothing in the present Charter shall impair the inherent right of individual or collective self-defence if an armed attack occurs against a Member of the United Nations, until the Security Council has taken measures necessary to maintain international peace and security." Shooting rockets at civilians is not "self defense" in any universe.

He also quotes several non-binding General Assembly resolutions that from the early 1970s that say that people under colonial subjugation have the right to resist "by all necessary means," which never includes terrorism, except to Palestinians and their fans. Of course, Israel is not a colonialist state to begin with, but the idea that international law allows Hamas-style terror attacks is absurd.

Elite commando unit was interrogated by Hamas for 40 minutes

The commandos that were involved in last month's botched special forces mission in Gaza were interrogated for 40 minutes by Hamas before the gunfight erupted, Channel 2 reported.

The soldiers were stopped while driving in Gaza by Hamas militants, who decided to detain them after finding inconsistencies in their story. The undercover operatives them opened fire in order not to be taken into custody and fled while being pursued by several patrol vehicles manned by Hamas militants.

The IDF dispatched several unmanned aircraft which opened fire on the Hamas militants pursuing the Israeli agents.

During the pursuit, one of the Israeli vehicles struck a wall, forcing the team members to continue on foot. An IDF helicopter later managed to land inside the Gaza Strip and evacuate the team.

The report also said that the troops had entered Gaza two months earlier and were installing highly advanced surveillance gear inside Gaza, including attempts to tap Hamas' communications network.

A 41-year-old Israeli lieutenant colonel, identified solely by the initial “M”, was killed in a pitched battle with Hamas militants deep inside the Gaza Strip, near the city of Khan Yunis.

Hamas has been intensively investigating last week's events and has called on the public to supply any information that might help them expose more details about the highly classified unit. Hamas says that it managed to salvage classified equipment the commandos had been carrying in their car despite the vehicle having been bombed by the IDF.

Earlier this week, Hamas claimed that the classified unit was living in Gaza in a safe house under the guise of humanitarian volunteers. The team’s equipment was smuggled into the Hamas-controlled coastal enclave through the Kerem Shalom crossing, where it was picked up by an agent working for Israel inside the Strip. The agent is also said to have secured two cars for the Israeli special forces team

Transcripts of Hamas' radio chatter during the operation that were released by Hadashot last month showed that the group originally thought it was battling drug smugglers during the shootout with the commandos. Only after IDF drones started strafing Hamas militants did the organization realize it was a commando op gone awry.

“Four fighter jets are above me. There was a strike near us. The jets are coming from the north. They attacked one of the (Hamas) cars. Hide. Close in on the Jews. Don’t let them leave Gaza," one Hamas commander yelled into the radio during the firefight

They were stopped in their car, during which they were questioned by the Hamas field commander killed and two other members of the armed wing who were not armed at that time. So they opened fire on the three killing them then tried escaping. During that attempt to escape Israeli air strikes killed another three Hamas members who clashed with the group. An Israeli soldier was killed in the process. Another Palestinian soldier from another group was killed in an air strike as well.

PA controls the border crossings(Egypt demanded this in order to open Rafah crossing), so PA was not able to interrogate them at the border because they simply didn't suspect that or are incompetent when it comes to these matters.
