Iranian Jet Engine Design and Manufacturing Company is Established

Iran will have to put in considerable amount of resources to make this a successful project. Building a modern Jet is extremely difficult. It needs sustained effort in a variety of fields of Physics and Chemistry, an industrial base to absorb the technology developed and mass produce it.
DO NOT worry about failures because there will be many and it is very frustrating especially when it consumes a significant portion of your national budget. Just the development can cost anywhere between $4-6 Billion because it requires the establishment of various individual test facilities, skilled manpower and training and R&D facilities in the respective fields.

France's SNECMA, with over half a century of successful jet engine development experience, took nearly 13 years to bring the Rafale fighter's M88 engine to low-volume production after bench testing had begun. China is still struggling with mass production of their indigenous engines, having to still import from Russia. So do not be disheartened if you do not succeed in the first try!

Best of Luck to Iran! Once the project has started and the company established, its just a matter of time till you succeed.

In Fact the company established to organize the projects ...

we already developed a new low bypass turbofan !

We started the work on jet engines about 20 years ago !!!

We are going to prove our industrial base :D

Since they unveiled Sumar It was always a question for me.
why not use that engine in Fotros ? surely that engine can do a lot for Iran drone programs.

Thrust problem ??? Just use after burner all the time... Problem solved. ;)

only feasible if your airplane s supposed to have less than half an hour of endurance

The JT8D engine is a civilian version of J52 engine. It is 60 year old technology so it is possible for Iran to copy it, if Iran works hard on it.

No problem if you underestimate Iran's capabilities now ... we are going to teach the hard way !!!

J-90 turbofan engine :

Saeghe-90 ... J-90 ... Fakkor-90 ... :D

Let me release something for the first time :

Iran working on a new jet engine for the new generation Saeghe (90) ... base on RD-33 !

but Iranian engine is a bit smaller ...

New saeghe will be the first Iranian capable fighter jet with a modern cockpit / weapons / ... etc ...

In fact something between F-5 & F-18 !
Thx Soheil for this interresting post, and your work.
Nevertheless I do have a question please. Could Iran mass produce indigenously the Saeqeh fighter ? If yes could Iran mass produce its jet engine ? If yes how much -around- Saeqeh were produced until now ?
Wikipedia told that at least 200 Saeqeh were produced, is it correct ?

Furthermore, they said at least 400 Azarakhsh were produced is it correct ? Is the Azarakhsh's jet engine indigenous too ?
Could Iran mass produce the RD-33 by itself nowadays ?
I ask you this question because U know better than me this topic, and U know infinitely better than any so called pundits that most of the time are israelis and use to lie about Iran. For that reason I take none credit what could say Jane's, Flightglobal, Defensenews, they lie etc....
Sometimes persons like you knows better.
Thx for your help.

Not s piece of cake. Took Europeans to come together and work as team to make airbus and things like turbofans...
But if Iran can pull it off and sell Chinese aircraft manufacturers... then props

we need to show a result !!!

3 years passed & we are still waiting for F-313 ...

F-313 is NOT a viable fighter so don't wait for it! If produced it will be nothing more than a technology demonstrator! which in my opinion is a waist of time and resources just like the polish PLZ-230 Skorpion

Despite what the polish people like to think the fact is, the main reason that fighter was never produced was because it just wasn't a viable platform and their government spent a bunch of money on a platform that would never be able to compete just like the F-313

Iran like Poland doesn't have the funds and recourses to play around with none viable platforms like the Shafaq, Borhan, Saegheh, F-313,...

Iran needs to work on only 1 platform, a heavy 2 engine multirole platform with internal weapons bay & other stealth characteristics that will be capable of speeds of over Mach 1.8. And, to work on anything other than that is in my opinion nothing but working towards the end of a true Iranian fighter program.

And one look at the Qaher-313 and you can tell that this fighter is not going anywhere so what it is your waiting for I truly don't know!

F-313 is nothing but the death of an Iranian fighter program!

An armed Iranian version of the RQ-170 will be more capable than the F-313!

Nope , if they make a prototype , they will see what strength and weakness of Qaher has ...

If you saw the problems in design , then im sure MoD engreeners understand this ...

Probably they make a flying prototype for propaganda , then they will Chang the design ....

Don't forget this is first time that we want make a fighter base on 100 percent indigues design.... We will learn some new things ....
