Iranian Ground Forces | News and Equipment

IRGC and Iran Army have different arsenal and developments. Zulfaqar project was a project for Iran's army ground forces. The other tank, Karrar, as I have heard is a project that IRGC is sponsoring.

Has nothing to do with that!
1st off IRGC had access to the Zolfagar so if the platform was satisfactory they would have stuck with it.
2ndly Karrar is most likely a heavily upgraded T72 and since Iran produced that tank under license using the same infrastructure to build something similar shouldn't be that hard.

Both the IRGC and Artesh will be using the Karrar

Don't get all upset! T-90 is also a Heavily upgraded T-72! And is today compared to it's price tag one of the best tanks on the field!
And by that I mean it has about half the price tag of an Abrams & I would take 2 T-90's over an Abrams any day!

Yes it depends on the Model and the add ons but over all the price of Abrams is double so of the same class with the same type upgrades I would take the TWO T-90's over an Abrams.... Or even 3 T-90's over 2 Abrams

No my friend, this weapon is officially called Fajr-224, it is a clone of M-4 carbine.

Although M-4 itself is the carbine version of M-16

Fajr-224 has became operational in Army ground force during Moharram wargames

PS, I mistakenly misnamed this rifle as Fajr-226 in my original post

Are you sure thats a Fajr 224?

This is a Fajr 224.

This is an M4 Carbine

Look at them carefully, they do not look like copies to me, at all. Looks like a different design, variations in almost all areas. This is probably a case of bad reporting.

The rifle pictured above is named "Fajr" but iranian copy of M-4 is named "Fajr-224"
