The other design is actually sloped as well. The APC below is a RG-31 mine resistant APC. Look at the body. That's what all modern APC's look like. Rakhsh is an ancient 3rd world design. If you actually investigate the body of RG-31 you can see what makes it mine resistant and why it's infinity better than the 5th rate Rakhsh design.

RG-31 is a modern APC, Raksh is straight out of the 1960's.

1st- RG-31 is a multipurpose ambush protected infantry mobility vehicle. It is not an APC by definition. It is used where possibility of engagement with a heavily armed foe is insignificant. As I mentioned it can't be used to move troops to the front line. It is mostly used for patrol missions
2nd - number of axles is irrelevant. Looking at rakhsh and RG-31 and concluding that RG-31 is more modern is wrong. It is like comparing a loader to an SUV. I'm talking about better protection for the troops inside. Rakhsh is a light weight APC by definition. It is 4x4, it has tire pressure control and run flat tires and can protect its cargo against modern and heavy rifles. That is what you need in the field. Simple enough to get the job done

Here is brief translation of an article in Mashregh News regarding 10 Iranian Electro-Optical sensors used in military equipment. Fellow Iranian can refer to the news site defense section for more information:

1- Dideban Heat detectin system.

Dideban is remote controlled and is usually mounted on a three pod. It is the same system that has also been installed on Toofan anti armor rocket luncher. It can automatically zoom on detected object and provide the operator with exact coordinates. It weighs around 7kg.

2- Sadad 102

Built in two varieties, 102CT with night vision capability and 102C without one. This system has been developed for long range surveillance in harsh environmental conditions and is equipped with heating and cooling systems. It can detect moving objects and track and enhance the view of objects using special software. I can zoom up to 100x. It can move in two axis with a precision of 0.0072 degrees.

3- Sadad 103

This system has been mainly developed for electro-optical surveillance especially in border areas. Modular design enables it to accept different sensors like infrared and laser meters. It have a wide range of 9.2x7.3 degrees and can both work manually and automatically. it can perform between -40 and +50 degrees and can zoom up to 110x. Due to its versatility it is part of Iran's comprehensive border protection (Shahid Kaveh Project) and is also being used as an addition to Basir-110 Radar

4- Sadad 201 T

It is a long range system for automatic surveillance of sea and land borders. It can detect and track objects automatically and act as a fire control system. It can provide 3D information regarding the moving path of objects. It is night vision capable and can Zoom up to 100x.

6- Safat

Mainly used for AA guns in medium height. A newer version was revealed around 3 years ago for controlling Orlicen 35mm AA Batteries.

7- Missile tracking electro-optical system

Revealed this year as part of RAAD-2 AD missile system. Can track flying object up to 80 km. It will provide the capability to resist electronic jamming and detect flying objects without being detected.

8- Combined Radar/Electro-optical system

Include a Basir 110 radar and an electro-optical system and can be added to the EOSS network and can detect ground units and even their identity. It can act as a fire control system and can detect infantry within 6 km, light vehicles within 12 km and heavy vehicles and choppers in ranges beyond 25 km.

9- Ya Zahra 3 electro-optical equipment

Part of Ya Zahra short range AD system, it can detect and control fire under heavy electronic jamming

10 - Other Naval or Aerial optical sensors

Above is the sensor installed on new Damavand frigate.

I'm mostly excited about using them for border protection. It can save a lot of our soldiers' lives especially the radar combined one. Imagine detecting infantry or terrorists within 6km range in the night! That's huge!

Iranian Army to Stage Massive Drills

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Army plans to hold large-scale military exercises next week.

Army Lieutenant Commander Brigadier General Abdolrahim Mousavi said the Army’s four forces, namely the Ground Force, Air Force, Navy, and Air Defense, will take part in the extensive maneuver titled “Muhammad Rasullullah” (Muhammad is the messenger of God).

The main stage of the Army’s maneuver is slated for December 23-31, he stated.

General Mousavi added that the drills will be carried out in a large area of 2.2 million square kilometers, stretching from the northern Indian Ocean to the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf and in the southern Iranian provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan and Hormozgan.

Over the past few years, Iran’s Armed Forces have held several military drills.

The Islamic Republic has repeatedly assured other nations, especially its neighbors, that its military might poses no threat to other countries, stating that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.

رزمایش بزرگ ارتش از چهارم دی ماه آغاز می شود
رزمایش بزرگ ارتش با نام محمد رسول‌الله(ص) در دهه اول دی ماه برگزار می‌شود.

به گزارش خبرنگار دفاعی خبرگزاری فارس، رزمایش بزرگ محمدرسول‌الله(ص) ارتش جمهوری اسلامی ایران از چهارم تا دهم دی ماه برگزار خواهد شد.

در این رزمایش یگان های مختلفی از نیروی دریایی، هوایی، زمینی و پدافند هوایی شرکت خواهند کرد.

گستره این رزمایش که محوریت آن با نیروی دریایی خواهد بود، در حدود 2 میلیون و 200هزار کیلومتر مربع تا مدار 10درجه در اقیانوس هند کشیده می‌شود.​

به گزارش خبرنگار دفاعی خبرگزاری فارس، در آستانه برگزاری رزمایش بزرگ محمد رسول الله(ص) ارتش جمهوری اسلامی ایران، نشست خبری این رزمایش صبح امروز با حضور امیر سید عبدالرحیم موسوی جانشین فرمانده کل ارتش، امیر دریادار حبیب‌الله سیاری فرمانده نیروی دریایی، امیر فرزاد اسماعیلی فرمانده پدافند هوایی، امیر کیومرث حیدری جانشین فرمانده نیروی زمینی و امیر حسین چیت فروش از فرماندهان نیروی هوایی ارتش برگزار شد.





امیر سید عبدالرحیم موسوی جانشین فرمانده آجا اظهار داشت: رزمایش بزرگ ارتش از چهارم تا دهم دی ماه برگزار می‌شود که در آن یگان های مختلفی از نیروی دریای، هوایی، زمینی و پدافند هوایی شرکت خواهند کرد.


وی گفت: گستره این رزمایش در حدود 2 میلیون و 200هزار کیلومتر مربع خواهد بود و در روز آخر نیز رژه بزرگ یگان های سطحی و زیر سطحی برگزار می‌شود. که در دریا، از مدار 10 درجه و شمال اقیانوس هند تا شرق تنگه هرمز و سواحل مکران و در زمین، بخش اعظم استان سیستان و بلوچستان و بخشی از هرمزگان را شامل می‌شود.


موسوی با بیان اینکه در این رزمایش از پایگاه دریایی سپاه و یگانهای احتیاط بسیج هرمزگان نیز در کنار ارتش حضور دارند، تصریح کرد: از وزارت دفاع هم برای نظارت بر سلاح ها و سامانه های جدید حضور خواهند داشت.


فرمانده رزمایش ارتش گفت: سلاح‌ها و تاکتیک‌های جدید در این رزمایش تست و مورد ارزیابی قرار می‌گیرد.


جانشین فرمانده کل ارتش، انطباق عملیات با تهدیدات پیش بینی شده و تمرین اقدامات فرماندهی مشترک و ستادی و ارزیابی یگانها را ازجمله اهداف این رزمایش عنوان کرد و گفت: البته بخش های زیادی از رزمایش چون طبقه بندی دارد رسانه ای نمی‌شود.


وی گفت: این رزمایش براساس تهدیدات واقعی و طرح ریزی قرارگاه «ذوالفقار» ارتش اجرا می‌شود و یگانها به صورت واقعی وارد عمل خواهند شد.


فرمانده این رزمایش، یکی دیگر از ویژگی‌های آن را تشکیل قرارگاههای جوانان در کنار قرارگاههای اصلی رزمایش عنوان کرد.


موسوی شعار رزمایش را «نمایش اقتدار و صلح و دوستی پایدار در سایه وحدت اسلامی و منطقه» عنوان کرد و اظهار داشت: آرامش و امنیت در منطقه باید توسط کشورهای منطقه ایجاد شود و تاکید می‌کنیم که با حضور بیگانگان در منطقه مخالفیم.


وی خاطرنشان کرد: در بخشهایی از این رزمایش، موضوع مبارزه با تروریسم را هم تمرین می‌کنیم.


امیر موسوی خاطرنشان کرد: ارتش و سپاه دو برادرند و هرکدام تلاش می‌کنند زودتر پیشمرگ خانواده شوند.


وی با بیان اینکه البته گاهی رقابت‌های پنهانی هم با هم داریم که این رقابت‌ها هرروزه است، اظهار داشت: اما هم سپاه و هم ارتش برای یک آرمان یعنی آرمان انقلاب اسلامی و تحت یک پرچم و تحت یک فرماندهی که فرمانده معظم کل قواست، عمل می‌کنند.


امیر دریادار حبیب‌الله سیاری فرمانده نیروی دریایی نیز در این نشست گفت: 2 پایگاه دریایی سپاه در جاسک و چابهار تحت کنترل عملیاتی در رزمایش محمد رسول الله(ص) حضور دارند.


وی خاطرنشان کرد: توان موشکی ارتش با شلیک موشک‌های سطح به سطح، ساحل به دریا، زمین به هوا و هوا به سطح در رزمایش مورد استفاده قرار می‌گیرد.


فرمانده نیروی دریایی ارتش تصریح کرد: منطقه ای را بعنوان منطقه تیراندازی مشخص کرده‌ایم که اژدر و موشک در آن شلیک می‌کنیم و اطلاعیه می‌دهیم که بیگانگان منطقه را ترک کنند.


سیاری با بیان اینکه این کار طبق قوانین بین المللی است، تاکید کرد: هرکه منطقه را ترک نکند، عواقب آن با خودش خواهد بود.


وی افزود: از ناظران خارجی برای حضور در این رزمایش دعوت نشده است.


امیر فرزاد اسماعیلی فرمانده قرارگاه پدافند هوایی خاتم الانبیا(ص) نیز با بیان اینکه تمام پروازهای فرامنطقه‌ای در زمان رزمایش محمد رسول الله(ص) رصد می شود، گفت: در این رزمایش نیز همچون گذشته هواپیماهای جاسوسی و پهن پیکر و... از منطقه F.I.R ایران دور خواهند شد.


وی افزود: روزانه هزار هواپیمای مسافری و غیرنظامی از فضای ایران عبور می‌کند و شاهد بودیم که چگونه یک هواپیمای نظامی «ایساف» را که به صورت غیرقانونی آمده بود، به سلامت به زمین نشاندیم و او اعلام کرد که اشتباه کرده است.


اسماعیلی افزود: قرارگاه پدافند هوایی در وسعت 133هزار کیلومتر مربع زمینی و 162هزار کیلومتر مربع هوایی در رزمایش شرکت دارد و با همکاری پدافند هوایی سپاه، اقدام می‌کند.


وی تاکید کرد: دراین رزمایش 3هزار نفر به صورت مستقیم از طرف پدافند درگیر و 10هزار نفر نیز اقدامات پشتیبانی را انجام می‌دهند.


امیر کیومرث حیدری جانشین فرمانده نیروی زمینی ارتش نیز با بیان اینکه دستاورهای جدید را در رزمایش محمد رسول الله(ص) تست می‌کنیم، از حضور یگانهای نزاجا در گستره 43 هزار کیلومتر مربعی در این رزمایش خبر داد.


حیدری افزود: هوانیروز تاکتیک‌های نوین متحرک هوایی را در این رزمایش نمایش می‌دهد و پهپادهای نزاجا نیز با تاکتیک های ویژه در رزمایش حضور دارد.


وی تصریح کرد: 27 رسته تخصصی نظامی نزاجا در قالب یک سامانه نظامی فرماندهی مستقل، توانمندی های خود را در رزمایش نشان می‌دهد.


جانشین فرمانده نیروی زمینی ارتش افزود: انتقال سریع نیرو به محل حادثه از مهمترین موارد در میدان نبرد است که در این رزمایش، تیپ 55 هوابرد را که از یگانهای ویژه نزاجاست، با ناوگان هوایی پای کار می‌آوریم. همچنین یگانهای ویژه کلاه سبز تیپ 65 عملیات های ویژه ای را در نبرد ساحلی، پدافند و هجومی انجام می‌دهند و رسته زرهی نیز تاکتیک های نویی را به نمایش خواهد گذاشت.


امیر خلبان حسین چیت فروش سخنگوی نیروی هوایی نیز با بیان اینکه کلیه پایگاههای نهاجا درگیر رزمایش محمد رسول الله(ص) هستند، گفت: در این رزمایش، 9 نوع از هواپیمای نیروی هوایی از بمبرهای سنگین و متوسط و هواپیماهای شکاری و بمب افکن شکاری حضور دارند و موشکهای جدید و مختلفی تست خواهد شد

not necessarily. The importance of this operations are about exercising and getting all forces coordinated with each other. Also, soldiers would usually have the opportunity to use and gain experience in all weapons including the expensive ones, ...
