this design is formed to prevent Explosively formed penetrator projectiles and Top attacking missiles (like javelin for example) from doing any damage on the vehicle .

this will significantly improve the vehicles stability and liability in battlefield .

yes , kontakt 5 is a soviet ERA system :

Kontakt-5 is a type of third-generation explosive reactive armour (ERA) originating in the Soviet Union. It is the first type of ERA which is effectively able to defeat modern armour-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot (APFSDS) rounds.

it was first introduced in 1985 in T-80s . thats why iran had to design 3rd , 4th and 5th generation armors itself .

this is what we all call : self reliance !!

Good development,But i don't think any sort of ERA infact even the Ukrainian knife can stop Javelin or even indian NAG ATGM's with top attack mode.

Still a Good development.It indeed will give more protection to a tank
