Iran to take action if US aircraft carrier returns

Iran has no long-range missiles, says Russia

MOSCOW (AFP): Iran has no long-range missiles, a Russian defence official said Tuesday, in Moscow's first response to a series of tests conducted by Tehran near the vital Strait of Hormuz oil supply route.

"Iran does not have the technology to create intermediate or long-range inter-continental ballistic missiles," defence ministry spokesman Vadim Koval told the Interfax news agency.

"And it will not get such missiles any time soon," he added.

Iran reported testing three missiles close to the Gulf oil-transit waterway on Monday amid preparations by Western powers to impose more economic sanctions over Tehran's nuclear drive.

Two of the missiles can fly a maximum 200 kilometres, generally considered short-range weapons, although the Iranian media and a navy spokesman described one of them as "long-range".

The other, a Nasr anti-ship missile, had a shorter range of 35 kilometres.

Russia has relatively close ties with Iran and built its first nuclear power station in the southern city of Bushehr.

Moscow has also delivered the nuclear fuel for the reactor.

Moscow has echoed Western concerns about the nature of the Iranian nuclear programme but has stopped short of publicly accusing Tehran of seeking atomic weapons and always said that the standoff should be solved by diplomacy.

ask him why this timeline is this way?

1990 : 1000 km
1995 : 1300 km
1998 : 1800 km
2002 : 2000 km
2005 : 2000 km
2007 : 2000 km
2009 : 2000 km
2011 : 2000 km
2012 : 2000 km
you see we have enough enemies so with increasing it further than 200 we can reach Moscow and etc why should we give US this card to add another superpower on their board! whats the point really?!
btw we all know who will benefit the iran US war most

Ignore the politics for a moment, and focus on the forces...

Look at a map pf the Gulf, the straights, and the horn of Africa; Oman.

Now, consider the combat radius of the F/A-18 Hornet, the range of cruise missiles, the offensive arms that a Carrier group has ready to go. Do Iranians really think a nuclear carrier is going to approach Iran and park 10 miles off shore? Why would they do something like that, when they can operate to the South, around the coast of Sur in Oman, and not only be out of range of the vast majority of Iran's brown water assets, but be terrain masked as well.

All those speed boats would have to cross 300 km of blue water to get anywhere close, and what 20mm cannon fire from a Hornet does to a speed boat is not pretty. Launch the F-5's? Assuming they get through any F/A-18 CAPs, they'd then have to face the defensive fire of picket ships, guided missile cruisers, and the like.

If it comes to blows, the USA will stand off and attack with some impunity. But I don't think it will come to that. I hope it doesn't.
you see all the point of this warning is to show the world that US can't do anything with iran so US dont want the war iran too
then iran treaths that they will block your AC way any you and your anglo pride will cause you too do what?!
bring a AC toward us and we will block that what you gonna do next is an act of war or you'll runaway back to diego garsia!
anyways in case of war atleast one of your carrier gonna sink .forget about other bases in ME.
so a war is not possible yet its gonna happen right after leaving Afghanistan and bahrain and by that time we have enough ICBM to reach white house (however i doubt if we dont have such thing already!)
so there not gonna be a war at all ...
good luck guys

Pentagon Spokesman said:
U.S. to Iran: We aren't going anywhere
The Pentagon has responded to Iran's warning that the U.S. should stay out of the Persian Gulf region with a 'we aren't going anywhere' retort. Pentagon spokesman George Little issued this statement moment ago (read also: Iran's new show of force):

Statement from Pentagon Spokesman George Little:

"The deployment of U.S. military assets in the Persian Gulf region will continue as it has for decades.

These are regularly scheduled movements in accordance with our longstanding commitments to the security and stability of the region and in support of ongoing operations.

These carrier strike group deployments are necessary to maintain the continuity and operational support to ongoing missions in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.
The U.S. Navy operates under international maritime conventions to maintain a constant state of high vigilance in order to ensure the continued, safe flow of maritime traffic in waterways critical to global commerce.

Our transits of the Strait of Hormuz continue to be in compliance with international law, which guarantees our vessels the right of transit passage. We are committed to protecting maritime freedoms that are the basis for global prosperity; this is one of the main reasons our military forces operate in the region."

Iran:We would positively destroy USN carrier if it returns.

The carrier returns.

Iran:We would definitely destroy USN carrier if it returns next time.

The carrier returns.

That would be an excellent computer game. You should buy it.
What if Russian sold them some Yakhont? and some S-300 PMU-2?

Then your two carriers are screwed!

After all, it's not like Russia and Iran are neighbors. Or that Russia has a major issue with the US over missile defenses in Europe.

That still would be an excellent computer game. You should still buy it. After all, as a conscript reject, how else are you going to get any 'military' experience?

Iran Minister could have done without those rhetoric.. Those AC WILL keep on returning & Iran will not (read cannot) do anything...

Not that I advocate US attacking another country.. I smell something funny is gonna happen in 2012..

But if at all, US have to attack & (or) discipline some country, presently there are few other contenders before Iran..

thats what i thought its all a game for you anglos!
all these games are kinda **** and runaway for you guys.last one cost 1m iraqis lives ..
about iran im not so sure its gonna be a game anymore.
all that matter rightnow is that iran can sink you battleships or AC's

its justthe matter of time its gonna be the last war a country with name of US start.
