Iran: No oil through strait if sanctions applied

What does the sanction mean?

First, I do not think U.N. will approve such sanction since China and Russia for sure will be against it.

Second, even if Europe and U.S. do not buy oil from Iran due to the sanction, you still have other countries that will buy it no matter the sanction by U.S. and Europe. For example, China will still buy from Iran.

Why does Iran need shut down the strait? As long as there are buyers, what does Iran need to worry about?

I thought Iran loves sanctions because it has no effect on them. So much for that crap. And to think they can shut it down they need to watch out for the 5th Fleet. China will support Iran because we are in the middle of a cold war with USA. A little pain at the pump is nothing compared to helping Iran defeat USA's evil plan to dominate the whole war and subjugate non-Western peoples. We already support Pakistan with a lot of weapons. It makes a lot of sense to do the same thing with Iran, and also get them into the SCO. Saudi Arabia might become hostile to China because of our support for Iran, but that's too bad, because they are in bed with the Americans, who are our adversaries.

China is too far to get directly involved in Middle East, but Central Asia (Afghanistan and Pakistan) is doable. Our Russian friends in the SCO can handle the Middle East theater of operations.

You mean the way China 'supported' Saddam Hussein prior to Desert Storm? Remember, Saddam Hussein got most of his arms from the Soviets/Russians and China. But when it comes down to the actual fighting, both Russia and China sat out. Supposedly the PLA leadership wrote a report that predicted American success but with heavy casualties. After Desert Storm, they used that same report to wipe the eggs off their faces. You really think that given the progress since then, China is going to get into a shooting match against US over Iran? You are delusional, just like the other conscript rejects here. This time around, if any report is/was completed by the PLA leadership, you can bet whatever sorry salary you got in whatever low wage job you have in China that said report will be filled with 'may' or 'could' or 'possibly' and all sorts of caveats.
