Iran envoy hopes Pakistan to address issue of Raheel Sharif’s appointment in IMA

Pakistan has sent a former military general of theirs to head an OBVIOUS TO EVERYONE Saudi "alliance" that's aimed against iran.

Trump almost spelled it out for you with his " muslim/arab nato against iran" speech. Iran is well with in its right to see this as a hostile act by Pakistan. and diplomatically request that Pakistan reconsider its position (iran has not been threatning or giving ultimatums)

I don't see where this entire hostility towards iran comes from. especially in light of history.

lets not forget iran is the only neighbour that has no territorial claims/dispute with Pakistan. in spite of the fact that balochistan was Iranian not long ago, and was unjustly taken over by british imperialists.

let us not forget that iran was EASILY in a geopolitical position to cut a deal with india for decades and dismember Pakistan with iran taking balochistan/ india taking the rest (There have been rumours of such a deal floating around in 60s 70s)

let us not forget that despite the fact that iran has always been neutral/ slightly pro Pakistan in the Kashmir war. Pakistan outright took saddam husseins side when attacked iran and we were fighting for our existence.

iran was not only neutral towards Pakistan, but in 65 iran gave Pakistani planes free fuel to keep them in the fight. that completely broke irans neutrality. india had every right to see that as an act of war. (imagine someone giving saddams air force a safe haven/ fuel to fight the American air force with in 91. The US would have seen that as an act of war).

despite all this iran has no hostility towards Pakistan. or territorial claims. all we ask is keep your border secure so some Saudi paid terrorist cant pop out, murder some 18 year old Iranian conscripts, and run back into Pakistan. and if possible, don't join Saudi/Zionists/American alliances against us either. thank you.

All this happening just because we don't have clear Foreing policies

Bullshit, do what ever you want to justidy your evil deeds, Our ISI has all right to counter :)

Pakistan has nothing to say or prove anything to shia terrorist sponsoring Iran.

If Iran is so concerned, which it is then it clearly shows that they are & have been sponsoring terrorism & trouble in the region.

What the heck is wrong with these stupid mullas?
Which Pakistani works where or for whom is none of their business.

ISLAMABAD: Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost on Monday said Tehran has raised issue of General (retd) Raheel Sharif’s appointment as head of Islamic Military Alliance with the Pakistani government, expressing the hope Islamabad Pakistan would soon make a good decision in this regard.

When asked to comment whether Pakistan can play a role in resolving Gulf's diplomatic crisis involving Qatar, Saudi Arabia and its allies , he told Geo News Pakistan is a key member of “Islamic family” who could play an important role.

He said Pakistan can help resolve disputes among Muslim countries by acting as a mediator. He said the dispute in the region was not in the interest of any country, and all the counties should find a peaceful resolution through talks .

“We will have to move towards peace and stability instead of new conflicts,” the ambassador said.

Responding to a question, he said Saudi Arabia’s stance on Iran consists of allegations. “We do believe any new conflict in the region can pave a way for foreign intrusion.

Just WOW, these Iranians have never hesitated the recruitment of Pakistani Shia as cannon fodders in Syria, yet they oppose the leadership role of a former Pakistani General in the Islamic coalition.

My Pakistani fellow country men are naive if they think that Saudia has no political motives in taking Raheel Sharif.

Hard reality is this that indeed it was a Saudi Politics and it indeed wanted to worsen the relationship between Pakistan and Iran.

Therefore, Saudi did succeed. Bad for Pakistan that indeed Saudia outplayed Pakistan and succeeded in worsening it's relationship with Iran.

Iran should stop poking its business in Pakistan, do you think we haven't forgotten the Indian spy that was roaming freely in your lands and how you are sending spy drones. Pakistan can join any coalition as long as it benefits our national interests.

Historically speaking Pakistan and Iran have had pretty good relations. During the era of the Shah Pakistan and Iran relations were on a historical high, there was even visa free travel between the two countries. During the 60s and 70s Pakistan and Iran had a deal where both worked together to squash the Baloch separatist and yes Iran outright supported Pakistan in the 1965 war and we have not forgotten that.

The relationship deteriorated once the Mullahs took over Iran but it wasn't like both the countries became hostile to each other but it was more like the countries started ignoring each others presence. Pakistanis are the only nation that have a highly favorable view of Iran even more than Lebanon which is a close ally of Iran.

Pakistan didn't take sides in the Iran Iraq war, Pakistan has always maintained that they will not choose sides in a conflict involving two Muslim countries, thats also the reason that Pakistanis rejected request from Saudi to send troops for the Yemen War and Pakistan agreed to let our General lead the alliance on the assurance that it will not be used as tool for an anti-Iran or anti-shia policy.

So Iran should actually be happy that a Pakistani General is leading that alliances as they should know that Pakistan won't let it be used against Iran.

Finally don't take the hatred from some of the followers to heart, yes i agree those words are hurtful but they are not the voice of the majority. I faced similar situation when i used to visit the Iranian military forum due to which for a limited time i was very hateful towards Iran and Iranians, but then i meet alot of Iranians and realized that the people of Iran are exactly like me and other Pakistanis, having similar fears, wanting to see their country progress and to lead a happy and successful life just like everyone else. So my perception and hatred took 180 degree turn, so much so that i ended up marrying an Iranian. Also majority of Pakistanis don't know this but for us Farsi is the easiest language to learn, far easier than Arabic, except that our accent will be like that of the Afghans.

Hope this post is helpful to you and all the other Iranian members.
