India's stingy definition of poverty irks critics

How is any country expected to reduce poverty when the economy is booming?

When an economy grows, there is more money in the system which raises the price for property, goods, services etc.

The lower class of people never get the extra money but still have to face the increase in living costs.

You can't set a global poverty line since the amount of money required to live per day varies from country to country.
