India's rupee crisis has muted obsession with overtaking China

Worthless Thread. Not informative, No Vocabulary, not many IQs at work, only some loose scud missiles...phew:sleep:

I say it's about even. Rape threads because it became international news.

What are the popular Chinese food in India?

We know very little about India. Ancient civilization and Buddhism. Indians love to dance.

Chinese food, beit heavily modified, is second only to Indian food in popularity...noodles, manchurian

Indians too know very little about China. Although India and China are neighbours, it is unfortunate that Indians know next to zero about Chinese culture, people and customs.

Indian movies!! Are they available in China or you see it in US? :what: However, movie is a good medium to know about each other. Here is a link below about some of the best Hindi/Bollywood movies, most of them are good. Bollywood is the biggest film industry in India closely followed by South Indian film industry. You can also find some very high-quality films from Bengali film industry; they are not so much big-budget technological marvel like Hollywood films are, but they are creative & intellectual films. :)

Thanks for your suggestion DRAY! I will keep that top 100 list. I watched Indian movies on Chinese movie websites where the Indian movies have Chinese subtitles, so I can understand the Indian style English conversation. I will exploit more high quality Indian movies.

Here is the link of Chinese subtitle version of Ghajini, wait 45 sec buffering, and then you can see it. In Chinese we translated it into words directly meaning Unknown Death. I also watched Taare Zameen Par, very touching.

Three Idiots are screen available in Chinese cinemas. Not sure about other movies.

Bollywood movies in general don't quite appeal to Chinese, I'm afraid.

The best thing we know about China is its cuisine. Chinese foods are very popular in many parts of India. There are lots of restaurants serving Chinese cuisine here. And if you ask us Calcuttans (Kolkatans), then we know more about Chinese cuisine then any Chinese! :P Actually there is a large population of Chinese in Kolkata, and their main businesses are leather products and restaurants. We have lots of Chinese restaurants as well as multi-cuisine restaurants also serving Chinese everywhere in Kolkata. There is also a place called Chinatown in Tangra, Kolkata which is full of may be some 100 or more Chinese restaurants, both big & small!! One of my clients is a Chinese (now Indian citizen), probably a Han Chinese as his name starts with Han, he also runs a Chinese restaurant. He goes to China once in 2-3 years to meet his relatives there. I once asked him if the Chinese foods served here are the same as in China, he said yes; they are authentic Chinese. :) We even serve Chinese in occasions like marriage ceremony, birthday celebrations also along with different Indian cuisine. Note that most Chinese restaurants are run by Indians all over India, and biggest of them is the restaurant chain "Mainland China" run by a Bengali. :)

Chinese foods are very popular as street foods also, while restaurants serve hundreds of different dishes, Chinese street foods are mostly limited to variants of noodles/chowmein, momo (dumplings), fried rice, & chicken items like chili chicken or schezwan chicken, etc. (Names might differ). We mostly stick to dishes made with noodles, rice, chicken, prawn, & fish, we don't venture into other kind of Chinese foods! :D

Calcutta is in West Bengal? Chinatown in India, amazing! Didn't know Chinese food suits Indian palate.

Did they ever bash each other up when sensitive issues are brought up, LOL?

Second only to Indian food in popularity? Since when? How did Chinese food find its way to India.

Chowmein, Manchurian,Chicken Chilly. Many Indians eat Manchurian or Chicken Chilly with Indian breads like Naan or Tandoori roti.

Chowmein has become a global food, you can find it everywhere.

Wow!! This is amazing!! And most of the films you mentioned are Aamir Khan’s films; he is one of the best presently. I like his films too! In that list 3 Idiots is on top followed by Taare Zameen Par (Like Stars on Earth), his other good films are Dil Chahta Hai, Rang De Basanti, Lagaan, etc. You can also check one of our latest hit films “Barfi”…nice movie! We see Chinese films in English mostly on English movie channels. :)

Yap! Calcutta or Kolkata is in west Bengal, and we have our own Chinatown! Though Chinese restaurants are spread all over Kolkata and India. Probably the food came with the large migrated Chinese population who are staying in India, also from our north-east parts. Calcutta alone had a Chinese population of about 200,000; now they have spread in other places also. And I have asked a Chinese restaurant owner already, as per him the food is authentic Chinese, and he is a Han! Many Indians know how to cook Chinese foods.

And no, we don’t have any problem with them. They are nice peaceful people and assimilate well with the native population. Only during 60’s there was some tension, but nothing serious happened. We are not that bad that you think we are! :D Those who come here start liking this place, here is a link! :D

Chowmein has become a global food, you can find it everywhere.

Some ingredients of Chinese cooking like dried noodles, Soy sauce, Chilli sauce are commonly available in markets even in small towns. Paneer(Indian cheese resembling tofu) or Cauliflower pieces are often replaced for vegetarian varieties of Chinese dishes.

Manchurian in Paneer and Cauliflower respectively.

Holy lord, manchurians <3 <3

Honestly the best part of Chindian cuisine.

Not sure if it has an equivalent in legitimate Chinese cuisine though, never seen it in a Chinese restaurant.

Chindian food, LOL. Love to try it one day.

There's no chicken dish that goes by this name. The texture and colour of the dish looks familiar though.

Any Manchurian dish that uses vegetable balls. What about Chicken chilly.
