Rank 14

India on Fragile States Index 2016-

Rank 70

Please don't post statistical data. It offends them.

The UNDENIABLE proof of India's Pakistan phobia (or India's obsession with Pakistan, if I may),

Yes, to be frank, we are obsessed with Pakistan, world's third largest economy by PPP terms, world's fastest growing major economy, a space & nuclear power with huge Armed forces operating aircraft carriers & SSBNs...oh wait.

And India succeeded her citizens by providing them slums worst then sudan and chad ?

Keep the nonsense to yourself.

Percentage of Urban population living in slums:

India 24%
Pakistan 46%

Your country has the honour of having the most poor in the world living in animal like conditions.

Not only does it have more poor by percentage , it has the most poor of any country in the world let alone Pakistan.

Did i mention mumbai getting the unqiue award of being the dirtiest city in the world?

The words Poor and dirty are synonymous with india.

World Bank has corrected it's earlier estimate of poverty in India. India's poverty was estimated to be 12.4% in 2010-11 using the new method. You can keep using outdated data for all I care.

Don't even compare with Mumbai- it's far ahead of any Pakistani city, in any parameter let that be GDP or infrastructure.

I wouldn't start discussing other parameters such as undernourishment or literacy here. But as the HDI figures shows, an average Indian has much standard of living than an average Pakistani.

And still the updated figure is much higher than Pakistan. Even in HDI india 'multi dimensional poverty is higher than Pakistan.

As for mumbai its far dirtier and uglier too. I would take the high quality of life of islamabad over mumbai anyday. Even Lahore is much better in it's road networks than Mumbai and much cleaner and less polluted despite having a population over 10 million.

Pakistani's continue to be happier than Indians according to United nations report.

And still the updated figure is much higher than Pakistan.

Where did you see the updated figure? The new dataset isn't released yet, AFAIK.

Even in HDI india 'multi dimensional poverty

Dude, we are a medium HDI country while you are a low HDI country. Stop mixing things up.

As for mumbai its far dirtier and uglier too.

Yes, it is surely ugly with the highest density of skyscrapers in south Asia, amazing airport & engineering marvels like Bandra Worli Sea link

I would take the high quality of life of islamabad over mumbai anyday.

We are not talking about small cities here.

Even Lahore is much better in it's road networks than Mumbai and much cleaner and less polluted despite having a population over 10 million.

Like seriously? The non existent public transportation system, airports & overall level of urban development in Pakistani cities are hardly comparable to thier Indian counter parts.

Who said it had better road infra ?

@Khan_21

Lahore is far behind any Indian city surveyed in Mercer's Quality of Living Ranking. Do check it out.

Pakistan's Gini Index is much better . Less people are poor , its pretty much an understood fact . See any poverty figures

Dude, we are a medium HDI country while you are a low HDI country. Stop mixing things up.

And we are much higher than you on Happiness Index . HDI is not the end all be all .

http://www.dawn.com/news/1246041

We are Ranked 92 while you are at 118 . It includes things like Social support , Freedom to make choices , generosity in addition to Education and GDP per capita .

Yes, it is surely ugly with the highest density of skyscrapers in south Asia, amazing airport & engineering marvels like Bandra Worli Sea link

So when is having skyscrapers a sign of beauty ? By that standard Mumbai is better than Rome and Venice:lol: .Mumbai had to go vertical because it has much less area and higher population .Karachi is 5 times bigger than Mumbai that is the reason you see dispersed skylines in different areas as compared to Mumbai .

Like Seriously are you living in the 90's? Not only does Lahore have a much better road network , Pakistan overall has a much better road network than India and much more prosperous upscale housing societies We made a 6 lane Highway in 97 when India still didn't know what roads were . Lahore arguably has the best network of roads found anywhere in SA . To top it off it's orange line will be complete next year .

http://www.numbeo.com/quality-of-life/city_result.jsp?country=India&city=Mumbai

Mumbai gets a total score of 51

http://www.numbeo.com/quality-of-life/city_result.jsp?country=Pakistan&city=Lahore

Lahore is 83 .

There are loads of other Indexes where Lahore is miles better like pollution , safety ,traffic , cleanliness.

Now you are shifting the discussion to GINI coefficient without understanding the basics. That was predictable.

And we are much higher than you on Happiness Index . HDI is not the end all be all .

HDI is a parameter which is commonly used by UN to compare economies. If you had better per capita GDP, education & healthcare, your score wouldn't be so low.

Yes, it is a factor, since skyscrapers 'look cool'.. Did you just skip the airport & BWSL part ?

The thing is, no Pakistani city can compete with Mumbai in the number of skyscrapers built/ under construction. And it is not just the unavailability of land that triggers skyscraper building boom. Check the number of skyscrapers under construction in Delhi NCR.

Anyway if you have checked, you would have known that Lahore is far behind any Indian city surveyed in Mercer's Quality of Living Ranking.

Like Seriously are you living in the 90's? Not only does Lahore have a much better road network , Pakistan overall has a much better road network than India

Is that why Pakistan was ranked behind us in WEF's ranking for infrastructure & transportation infrastructure quality in logistics performance index ?

No mention of public transportation or airports?

and much more prosperous upscale housing societies

Another unsubstantiated claim. In India they don't build housing societies, they built townships & even new towns. You should try googling about the townships in Delhi NCR or under construction world's tallest residential building in Mumbai. I am sure that no Pakistani project can be compared with them.

We made a 6 lane Highway in 97 when India still didn't know what roads were .

This is not the 90s dude. The pace of road infrastructure development in India accelerated after 2000s, with the initiation of National Highway Development Project.

Lahore arguably has the best network of roads found anywhere in SA .

You obviously know nothing about Delhi's infrastructure - it's roads, expressways, Metro, airport. Lahore is way behind.

To top it off it's orange line will be complete next year .

Yes, a 27 km metro line would put Lahore in the top place in South Asia. Meanwhile Delhi Metro is supposed to reach 400 km length by 2020 & tier 2 Indian cities like Kochi, Lucknow & Ahmadabad will get a metro line by 2016/2017.

That is a crowd sourced database. What credibility do that have ?

Hmm, Karachi was ranked as the sixth least liveable city in the world this year by EIU, because of the worsening safety situation.

Pakistan represent 1000 years of domination of India from Muslim invaders. That is why Indians has embraced the British empire as Indians are used to be control by people outside of India. The British created India and give India a country. However, as India existed as a religion and as a geographical expression outside of British the British creation. Many Indians are confused about their own identity. The only Indians who are not confused are actually Hindu nationalist as India means the land of Hindus.

HDI multi dimensional poverty index , World bank figures see any poverty figures you want and Pakistan is miles better . GINI is a good indicator of how well money is distributed . That is why we have less poor neighbourhoods here and less dirty places .

HDI is a parameter which is commonly used by UN to compare economies. If you had better per capita GDP, education & healthcare, your score wouldn't be so low.

HDI + Social support + Generosity + freedom to make choices + Sanitation and you get United nations Happiness Index . And Pakistan is ranked much higher in that .

There is no place in India that comes remotely close to Bahria town In Pakistan . It's like living in Spain or italy . These are spread throught Karachi , Lahore and Islamabad .

Bahria-Town-Lahore7.jpg

Name me one Housing society or township in your case which has such luxurious road network . This is the Underconstruction bahria town Karachi jinnah avenue spread over 20 km .

Yes, it is a factor, since skyscrapers 'look cool'..

Then Mumbai is better than Rome right? And Dubai is better than zurich ? . People In Pakistan prefer living in big houses and housing societies . Its different in India where people usually live in apartments .

Is that why Pakistan was ranked behind us in WEF's ranking for infrastructure & transportation infrastructure quality in logistics performance index ?

It is ranked better in road network

Pakistan is 75 while India is 76 . Despite us being much smaller than you our 6 lane expressway length is almost equal .

You obviously know nothing about Delhi's infrastructure - it's roads, expressways, Metro, airport. Lahore is way behind.

If you saw the video Then you would have come to the conclusion that Lahore is a better and cleaner version of Delhi .

That is a crowd sourced database. What credibility do that have ?

The same credibility that mercer has. Numbeo is quoted on many occasions for quality of life reasons . It's ven more realistic since people rate them instead of people sitting in London having a cup of tea who have never been either to delhi or Lahore .

Interesting observation. How do you reconcile that to the Sha Sunni schism which have reached epic proportions?

It hasn't reached "epic" proportions, it's a minor problem that has only come up recently due to foreign interference in the Muslim world.

Anymore delusional rants? :omghaha:

He is mostly right. Key word being mostly.

Bangladesh was bound to happen with or without you . No country in the world can survive when they are 2500 km apart

Why would you form a country like West/East Pakistan ? It is not like you let them go when the time came

Just look at the number of Indians and the time, they spend on a PAKISTANI defence forum. And that'll explain a lot.

Hay na akhir complex ki maari qoum. Jism azad hogya magar soch ab bhi Ghulam hay.

HDI multi dimensional poverty index , World bank figures see any poverty figures you want and Pakistan is miles better .

Having an HDI score of 0.609, India is classified as a medium HDI country ahead of Pakistan. For the poverty rate, wait till the updated report is released.

GINI is a good indicator of how well money is distributed . That is why we have less poor neighbourhoods here and less dirty places .

GINI measures relative inequality & not absolute one. It is not possible to compare easily between two countries with different income levels. Anyway is that the reason by 45% of urban Pakistanis live in slums?

HDI + Social support + Generosity + freedom to make choices + Sanitation and you get United nations Happiness Index . And Pakistan is ranked much higher in that .

Do you know why no one takes this happiness index thingie seriously, except for countries like Bhutan? See the methodology used.

''The 2016 Report includes the ranking of 157 countries based on survey data from 2013 to 2015. Each country had an average sample size of 3,000 people who answered questions pertaining to six variables: gross domestic product (GDP) per capita, healthy life expectancy, social support, freedom, generosity and absence of corruption."

This is why indicators like HDI are used for policy making, while this happiness index isn't.

There is no place in India that comes remotely close to Bahria town In Pakistan . It's like living in Spain or italy . These are spread throught Karachi , Lahore and Islamabad

Sure...I hope what you have is remotely comparable to what they are building in Delhi NCR.

new-delhi-skyscrapers.jpg

Noida_skyline.jpg

Name me one Housing society or township in your case which has such luxurious road network . This is the Underconstruction bahria town Karachi jinnah avenue spread over 20 km .

Why should they build the road network by themselves in the first place? Such trunk infrastructure in India is provided by the government. Even in the new cities being built as part of the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridors or or ones like GIFT city, the government provides roads, power, ICT infrastructure, district cooling & waste management. We don't suck in providing such infrastructure, unlike...

Then Mumbai is better than Rome right? And Dubai is better than zurich ? . People In Pakistan prefer living in big houses and housing societies . Its different in India where people usually live in apartments .

Clutching straws, again ? Many of these skyscrapers are actually commercial ones. The skyscraper building boom in Mumbai & Delhi NCR is indicative of India's economic growth.

It is ranked better in road network

Pakistan is 75 while India is 76 .

In the 2015-2016 global competitiveness report the quality of India's overall, road & railroad infrastructure was ranked as 74th, 61 & 29. The ranking for that of Pakistan was 98,77 & 60 respectively.

If you saw the video Then you would have come to the conclusion that Lahore is a better and cleaner version of Delhi .

Please do tell me, in what parameter is Lahore better?

Airport ?
Rapid Transit Systems ? (Metro, brts, high capacity buses)
Road network, elevated roads & expressways ?
GDP ?

The same credibility that mercer has. Numbeo is quoted on many occasions for quality of life reasons . It's ven more realistic since people rate them instead of people sitting in London having a cup of tea who have never been either to delhi or Lahore .

Zero credibility, in fact. The reports I quoted use proper data & techniques for analysis. Pakistani cities are ranked lowest in liveability reports prepared by Mercer & EIU for a reason. Crowd sourced data bases, based on individual perceptions & varying standards can't be compared with them.
