NEW DELHI: Indian TV has offered apology for showing picture of slain member of Sindh Assembly Manzar Imam as a mastermind behind blasts in Indian Hyderabad.

Earlier, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik had demanded of the Indian government to apologise for pinning the blame for Hyderabad Deccan Bomb blasts on the lawmaker.

Malik condemned Indian allegations in the strongest of words.

India has no national media ethics. Incidents like these are embarrassing and could lead to boil over.

Doesn't some government authority issue licenses to TV channels to operate? If that is correct than the same authority should keep an eye on what the media is broadcasting.

It depend on what you see. I see India TV when I got boared. It's more like a Cartoon Network for grown ups. There is no control on free media. Any individual can go into the court against them but not govt.

Well , media only broadcasts what is in the public purview, some stories may be right and some may be wrong. And the statutory body governing the media is the Press Council of India. And Yes, we cannot live with our neighbor peacefully because India media propagated the entire Kargil war? or the Indian media helped militant intrusions along the border ?? No, so there are ground realities which have caused the majority of disparity among neighbors.

And Indian media has more guidelines laid out than Pakistan media. A constitutional body to see to its limitations. Just that we have so many Channels that one is bound to hear some idiot cracking his own nuts. But this does not make the entire media a Jack ***.

Ps: One(Neighbors) should be more introspective in these matters rather than critical of others.

This was a SERIOUS issue.

Instead, appeal in an Indian court for it's immediate BAN.

It can be the perfect CBM b/w our two countries.

This will be ONE ISSUE where all Indians & Pakistanis will be on the same page.

By the way , we have 84 news channels in India . none are operated by the govt . so there is no question of them apologizing .
