recently, they gave a national award to a long dead criminal, madan mohan malviya, one of the founders of the sangh parivar... who will it be next... pramod mutalik, champion "moral police" and beater of ladies??

but i am cynical about indian "muslims" doing something to overthrow modi sarkaar... in fact, it is non-muslims in congress party and aam aadmi party who speak more against modi than india's 15 percent "muslims" masses.

when bangalore's new international airport was not named after tipu sultan despite tipu being born in that area, i know of no mass rallies condeming the naming... you can derive your conclusion from that about what will indeed happen if gujarat massacre part 2 happen.

believe me, most indian muslims are not the most thoughtful muslims in the world... in the last 67 years, the so-called leaders of indian muslim community have not produced anyone like jamal abdul nasser... they are interested in the same things most hindus are... jobs, prayers, rituals, festivals, being petty minded...

why is interest-based loans still existant in india when that is haraam according to islam... what have groups like the deoband mullah school done about this "riba" ( usury )... no, they built more mosques... in fact, india must the largest number of mosques in the world - approx 100,000 ( government numbers from the indian tourism ministry, a few years back ).

why didn't the "muslims" of bangalore take out "million man marches" against the 2003 western invasion of iraq... no, they were more interested in buying more burqas... in fact, india must be the most fanatic burqa-wearing nation in the world.

why didn't the "muslims" of india protest against the invasion of libya by 35+ militaries of nato+puppets, and the subsequent deaths of 200,000+ libyans... no, they were more interested in doing quran memorization competitions and eating "sheer qurma" during ramzans.

it is not surprise that zakir naik is from among indian muslims... it is no surprise that transnational criminal gangs like "hizb ut tahrir" and "ikhwaan ul muslimoon" have their origin or inspiration from among indian "muslims".

you ask the typical bangalore "muslim" about the nato proxy war in syria presently and they will reply "humna kya" ( why should i be bothered ) and will proceed to rush to their prayer doing in their locality's mosque... yes, bangalore is flooded with mosques.

i don't know if any big mosque in india even had a friday qutba condemning the taliban because of the recent peshawar massacre.

One can call it as not being politically correct - though end of the day when security forces will encounter terrorists - they will surely belong to the one religion that's known for terrorism, being politically correct is more important than being factual. When someone hears a loud AOA one would instinctively take cover for e.g. and rightly so.

NEW DELHI: Gujarat chief minister Anandiben Patel on Thursday apologized for the 'mistake' of the state police after the cops courted controversy when they made dummy terrorists wear skullcaps during an anti-terror mock drill, Times Now reported. The exercise had brought embarrassment to cops.

The exercise was carried out by Surat police at Dabhari near Olpad. During the drill, the special operations group (SOG) was assigned the task of nabbing 'terrorists' trying to enter India. After some fake firing, the 'terrorists' were nabbed and arms and mobiles were recovered.

"Even real terrorists do not come wearing a skull cap. Police should take care and not relate terrorism to followers of any religion. I will investigate the issue personally," said Gujarat BJP minority cell president Mehboob Ali Chishti.

A defensive SOG Inspector B C Thakkar said, "The mock drill participants were asked to wear skull cap just to give them a different look. It was not an intentional move to relate to a specific community." SP (Surat rural) Pradeep Sejul added, "This should not happen."

Terror drills are important and they should be terror drills time to time. Police officer who was holding drill and using skullcaps , that officer should understand that such unintentional things should not be repeated. So are there any guidelines issued by the Gujarat police in here ?

There is no question that these drills need to be carried out on a regular basis across India, the guidelines will be about the nature of the threat and how they will operate but not something like their appearance/dress.

AHMEDABAD: Police in Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state of Gujarat faced widespread criticism Thursday after staging an anti-terrorism exercise featuring “militants” dressed up as Muslims.

A video of the drill, which was broadcast on Indian media websites, shows five policemen capturing and then pinning down three men in white knitted skullcaps before bundling them into jeeps.

The exercise earlier this week was in preparation for a January 11-13 investment summit in Gujarat, whose speakers will include US Secretary of State John Kerry as well as Modi himself.

Modi, who is leader of the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party, was chief minister of Gujarat during an outbreak of communal violence in 2002 which killed more than 1,000 people. Most of the victims were Muslims.

Kamal Faruqui of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board termed the mock drill “atrocious and highly condemnable”.

“It is profiling the Muslim community which is very bad. They should apologise, otherwise they should be taken to the court,” Faruqui told NDTV news channel.

The former ruling Congress party called the incident an act of religious intolerance by a “failed administration”.

Police initially tried to brush off the criticism, saying the skullcaps were used “to give them a different look”. But they later apologised for an “avoidable situation”.

“This was a mistake and should not have happened,” local police chief Pradeep Sejul told AFP, adding that an inquiry had been ordered.

Concerns about religious intolerance in secular India have grown since Modi came to power in May, fuelled by reports of Muslims and Christians being forced or induced to become Hindus in mass conversions.
