There is nothing indian here,these fighter are to replace their current su33 fighters for this carrier.

then those prominent IN roundel and enmarked "भारतिय नोसेना" on the aircraft are no where to be seen.

Can't wait for Vikramaditya to join IN. The no. of Mig-29Ks in the Air Arm of the Navy will be 45 by 2014 - a very powerful punch indeed.

You are confusing operating weight to that of empty weight. Operating weight is not empty weight.
Unfortunately empty weight of all russian fighters are confidential. However when the Soviet Union collapsed and some of their fighters ended up in NATO hands they weighed it and got to know that the baseline Mig-29B weighs 10900kgs and the Baseline Su-27s weighs 16400kgs. Apart from the weights of these 2, no empty weight is available. However Russian site airwar.ru run by former Airforce personnel gives some pretty good unofficial data on the empty weights. Ofcourse the site is in russian, but this site link below takes the data from there and compiles it well together. You'll find your empty weight here - Thurst to Weight Ratios of all Fighters
