Quantity doesn't make a difference mate. My question is why do you need them... Who the heck is your enemy sooooo far away? Do you think stockpiling weapons can make a difference? You Indian can't even face the heat of Ajmal Kasabs and you expect to counter Pakistan's Military. LOL. WOW! Can't you see what happens to the U.S when they are in Afghanistan? The aircraft carriers aused for purpose of transporting, supplying, and as a short base. Countries usually try to protect their bases. This thing is just a floating base of junk and basically a suicide from your enemy. Go ahead do what every you guys are doing but the fact is i'm just giving my own personal opinion.

I don't want to troll here, since you brought in Ajmal Kasab to show our prepardness for War. The world knows that Ajmal is the guy who is the most emotionally stressed man as he has to question himself for every day for the rest of his life "Will in be hanged today or tomorrow? or will I have be put in solitary confinment? or etc.
This emotional torture is enough for his mis deeds that he carried out the moment he step foot in Indian soil.
I do not wish for war between our two nations, but if it happens your generals condition will be the same as Ajmal but he has to have the fear from your own government.

A floating and moving airbase is more safe and secure then the one on land, if airbases are useless then why don't pakistan close down its all of the airbases?????????

Why does India need an ACC? stupid Q tbh- it is an aspiring global power. Don't lump Pakistan and India together, they have NEVER been equals and NEVER will be. Just because Pakistan doesn't need an ACC/can't afford and ACC doesn't mean India doesn't need/ can't afford and ACC.

Can't understand why our carrier fighters will be mainly used only for defensive role, why can't they attack enemy harbours? Isn't one carrier and fighters enough against a PAF counter raid?

Not only ours, but all carrier fighter prime role is protecting the carrier, just like the CBG although they have offensive capabilities as well. Besides that it will be used in other offensive roles like anti ship, or strike and wrt to PAF, a single Indian carrier with hardly 2 dozen fighters (especially when we talk about Mig 29ks and LCAs, from STOBAR carriers) is by far too less to fight PAF, since they have can make use of higher numers of fighters and the land based air defences. But that tells you also who the real enemy for IN carriers would be in an hypothetical war scenario with Pakistan, PAF and the land based capabilities of Pakistan, not PN. PN is simply not capable enough to go against IN 1 on 1, that's why they will be used for defence mainly (subs might be offensive), coupled with PAF. IN might attack shore based targets, but not necessarily with fighters, because they have better options than risking their fighters just like that (Brahmos, Club S and I still hope for Scalp missiles on the Scorpenes). For IN in such a war scenario, it will be simply not very important to destroy any port, or naval vessel in Pakistan, when blocking the supply to these ports might be way easier and when they can hit targets if necessary from safer distances anyway.
Just look at the Libyan conflict for example, it wasn't US, or French naval fighters that started the attacks, but cruise missiles from subs and naval vessels (next to B2 strikes), that paved the way for attacks with fighters, because then the air defences were weakend and I think we all know that Pakistan has better air defences + PAF will definitely fight way more than Libyan air force did.
In any war against Pakistan, IAF and IA will play the main roles, while IN will support, that's why our carrier and sub developments has nothing to do with Pakistan, like most of our new procurements. When the aim is on China, or projecting the power to areas of interest around China, things will be totally different again, because IN then will play the main role with SSNs, SSBNs and the future IAC2 with more capable fighters and hopefully catapults.

For the same reason Pakistan needs fighters, vessels, tanks... to defend your homeland and the areas of interest!
India has a large coastline and has to be able to defend them from longer distance, that's why carriers will be the first line of defence if you want and just like air superiority gives a clear advantage in a conflict, Sea control offers the same. If IN is able to block key sea lanes, it will offer India a strategic advantage, since the supply of oil, gas, or even weapons is mainly done by sea. A carrier battle group in this case is a very important and powerful asset, next to our other vessels and subs.

Actualy we tried that in past....but after 1948,1962,1965...we realised that the freindly countries around us will not let us live in peace without these biliion $ toys.....

Very,very good point. But it is Pakistan that is spending >5% of its GDP on defence whilst India is spending ~2%. Year on year India is spending FAR more of its budget on education and poverty annihilation than on on defence, for Pakistan it is the other way around.




And only will the world be safer if India has strong armed forces so that there is a detterance, so that people don't try to exploit perceived weaknesses. As is previous wars (1947,65,99)have only occurred when Pakistan has perceived there are weaknesses in Indian security. 1947- irregulars supported by regular Pakistan army moved in to exploit a vulnerable princely state. 1965- Pakostan believed India to be weak off the back of 1962 war and lack of Indian response at Rann of Kutch.


Thus if Indian armed forces are strong then no one is going to risk messing with them. Peace through force.

I don't want to troll but what did you do with East Pakistan... remember?, what are you doing now with Balochistan..., Pakistani Taliban, i reckon it is rather your country that would not let us live. Oh yeah and by the way does Afghanistan need sophisticated toys to kick the American out? Just look and watch. These things don't mean anything.
