What's new

Indian naval aerial arm will stretch Pakistani air force

48 MIG29k

and 20 Posedion maritime planes will be a real pain in the Pak Navy neck.

They will have to take out AIR force sqds to protect Gwadar & krachi and need refullers for sea patrol misions to protect their fleet.

IN turn the IAF which will already outnumber and outgun the PAF will sqeeze their air power on land.

ALL in 2 carrier battle groups of 24 MIG29K each gives India massive flexibility and pakistan will need to spilt their smaller airforce to match.

AS for buying dedicated J11 etc i,m not sure their resources go that far as India outspends them annually by 5 or 6 to 1

waste less thread just imagination
we already saw mig-29kub when it had been destroyed in Russia

yeah same with your FC-20/J-10

good....so now indians will understand why we continue to aim for a policy of minimal yet credible deterrence

yes in 4 years however that credible deterrence will become uncredible deterrence

5 AC thats abt 10 billion dollars a year can u spend that much ?

Today? No. But as we don't expect a 3rd/4th/5th carrier before 2020 then id say by the time they are ready India will easily be able to afford 5 CBGs possilby more. As year on year India's defence budget is increasing by ~12% so by 2020 it will be well over $100 BN/year (if trend continues). Heck by ~2014/15 it will be ~$55 BN/year. Similarly by then India's economy will also be significantly stronger.

As Storm Force has already mentioned, the IN air wing isnt a direct threat to the PAF. howeverit forces the PAF to dedicate some of its assets away from the eastern border where the armies will be fighting it out.
unless PAF dedicates some aircraft in the west, an indian AC can theoretically sail west and have sorties flying into pakistan from angles the PAF doesnt like.

Aircraft carriers are the stupidest thing. Just a couple of bombs and missiles and the whole fleet of aircrafts on it will be destroyed. Besides, why does India and Pakistan have to buy them----- they are neighbours for god's sake LOL...

Lets hope there be no war, why are we talking hypotesis, a war does not only cause economic damage, but loss of life and an emotional hostility towards each other that will not fade for the rest of our natural existance.
I hope the planners on both the side consider its people above its pride. If it considers the people then both the nations will stop hostilities towards each other and lets start where can we find a way to bridge the gap rather than finding a way to widen it.

And to the PAK members, our Naval wing is not to occupy your land, its for our self defence. I wish that some day we both do not fight over who is having powerful weapons rather will have a health economic competion and human/people and natural resources development.

Man! why didnt all the navy admirals around the world didn't think of it.. Imagine the cost of all the sunk aircraft carriers till date they would have saved ;)

To make two AC operational with 48-mig on them, India needs some times.Till then. Pakistan will have some solid dedicated navel fighter plane version in its naval fleet, most probably JF-17 naval version and J11 imported from China.so do not take things as easy as you guys think.

Presently, Indian naval harrier are matched by Mirage-5 dedicated naval version stationed in Karachi.:smokin:

Aircraft carriers are just floating airbases, do u want to say that airbases are useless???????????????

A floating and moving airbase is more safe and secure then the one on land, if airbases are useless then why don't pakistan close down its all of the airbases?????????

Quantity doesn't make a difference mate. My question is why do you need them... Who the heck is your enemy sooooo far away? Do you think stockpiling weapons can make a difference? You Indian can't even face the heat of Ajmal Kasabs and you expect to counter Pakistan's Military. LOL. WOW! Can't you see what happens to the U.S when they are in Afghanistan? The aircraft carriers aused for purpose of transporting, supplying, and as a short base. Countries usually try to protect their bases. This thing is just a floating base of junk and basically a suicide from your enemy. Go ahead do what every you guys are doing but the fact is i'm just giving my own personal opinion.
