my own understanding of some Indian Muslims negative feelings about Pakistan are because they expected much more from Pakistan as in more outreach and help being extended to them against the majority that oppresses them and so far Pakistan hasn’t reached out as much as they had expected.

Just as I said before, it was a blessing in disguise that most hindustani muslims stayed back in hindustan. Pakistan is for people of Punjab, Afghania (K-P/FATA), Kashmir, Sindh, and Balochistan.

Not true my friend. I have never seen Salman Rushdie or Javed Akhtar talking cr*p about Islam. They hate Pakistan? Yes. But just because they hate Pakistan doesn't mean they are any less muslim than you guys! Pakistan is no holy land of Mecca or Medina.

And maybe they hate Pakistan because they have been brought up in secular society and haven't been fed propaganda bullcr*p in madressa from the age of 1. Apparently children in Pakistan learn to say 'F*ck India' before they learn to say 'abba' or 'ammi'.

Just look at this reporter she was trying to hard to show that Muslims are not happy in India. And at the same time if Javed nad actually said that you'd be like 'Look at India taking care of its' minority.' And you guys don't care about muslims. If you actually cared for muslims you would have never done what you did with Bangladeshis. You just want common ground for India bashing. But today's people in India understand that religion is in important part of their life but it's not EVERYTHING. They represent the nation first.

I am not allowed to buy land in Kashmir, what is the point. ASMI might have asked for a high value flat for a cheaper price and flat owner would have refused and this lady comes out and says MUSLIMS in INDIA are discriminated. Salman Rushdie has indeed talked against Islam, he used to work and make a living in Pakistan, his mother lived in Karachi her whole life and no one harmed her. Her son on the other hand has got nothing but nonsense to say against Pakistan, shows his mentality well.

Can we apply the same yardstick to the Statements about the $ 60 billion loss that Pakistan has taken in WoT. After all they are just statements from Pak govt..

But that Pakistani data (billions of $ losses) has been used by the IMF. The IMF wouldn't be using faulty data if it didn't have any credibility, because it would put into doubt their own.

If anything, the prevalent mood was one of hostility and suspicion. It reminded me of a story the late Mani Dixit used to tell about his time in Pakistan, when he visited a Pakistani diplomat at his home. He was introduced to the couple’s young son as a visitor from India. The child said an obedient ‘hello’ and then started running around a startled Dixit shouting “Hindustani , Hindustani kut*a !” The embarrassed parents hurried him out of the room and apologised profusely to Dixit.

A friend’s aunt, who is married to a Pakistani, and often visits the country, had much the same experience. No we don't have any subject like Pakistan studies , neither are indo- pakistani wars a part of Indian curriculum.
