COIMBATORE: A 22-year-old BEd girl student allegedly committed suicide by jumping out of a running train in the city today.
The student was travelling in the Chennai-Kollam special train and was found talking on mobile phone throughout the night, police, quoting some passengers in the woman compartment, said.
As the train reached Avarampalayam level crossing in the city around 7.30 AM, she suddenly jumped from the train, which was immediately stopped by other passengers by pulling the alarm chain.
Though the profusely bleeding student was rushed to the Government hospital, she died on the way, police said.
