My fellow Indians, the OP here has to put down another religion/culture to soothe the insecurities of his own. Such misled people should be dealt with sympathy not logical reasoning. I hope he finds a mentor who could guide and teach him to remove any lack of understanding that he currently possess. Also, look at the countries these guys who post such threads stay in -- it's usually the western countries. Islamaphobia is on the rise here.

My advise to you is to change your mosque or mentor so you get true and real learnings. It will make you feel better and stop you from insulting other muslims by posting petty threads on other cultures.

Im certain the Aryan invasion must have brought some clothing for the natives. Question to the Indians,do you regard yourself as part of the the Aryan invaders or were the invaders enemy?

Its not as though South Asia discovered civilization all of a sudden. IVC is one of the oldest civilizations (starting 4500 bp) & it only came after Mehargarh that preceded it by about 2000 years.

However, clothing typically was very minimal, similar to pre-European Mesoamerica, and was optimized for the hot and humid clime of India. Both men and women were often shirtless with various forms of waist-wraps as the bottom garment.

The first depiction of tunics in the region comes from the Indus Valley Civilization:

They were "present" but definitely not prevalent, the depictions of people in pre-Islamic Indian art are overwhelmingly without stitched upper garments. The few rare depictions of stitched upper garments are often attributed to depictions of foreigner.

However, minimal clothing does not equate to "lack of civilization, culture or advancement" as many people here are insinuating, rather it just meant that minimal clothing was optimal for the climate of India.

They dont want to believe aryans were outsiders. This is the reason they are contemptuous of south asian muslims who they deem as detestable progeny of an invasive religion/culture. It appears to be projection.

You sound desperate for some approval and justification of Islamic invation of India. So much that you started giving credits to everything that happened in the subcontinent to them.
Clothes, Rice farming, architecture, Music and so on. None of which is true but meh.

At topic : I guess you never heard of Utariya and what these statues represent.

Ancient Indian middle and upper class women (especially those of younger age) wore nothing but the female equivalent of the dhoti and something to cover their breasts (Kanchuli) starting in say 500 AD, prior to that, no breast covering. I say this not to insult anyone, but this is fact (as seen on early palm leaf drawings preserved in Eastern India). Males wore only a dhoti and that was it. Weather related clothing.

Uttariyas were only worn by upper middle class men, on up and they had to be in important Brahmin roles (i.e. priests). No lower class Hindu was allowed to wear Uttariyas (embroidered male dupattas essentially).
