Yup 29 30 Indians tried to take Helmet and Black top, repelled by Chinese soldiers. Btw Black top is the highest point there. But they are now stuck along the ridges. Reqin pass taken back on 8th Sept. We violated into Indian side of LAC near foxtail point and that's when shot were fired, new base created there.

You do realise that this has really pushed India to improve roads trains etc on war footing. And in the long run, india would be able to rotate troops more cost effectively.
China on the other hand created a cold weather war front for no obvious gains? And please don't quote 500km etc. India china were jointly patrolling it . I don't see using thousands of troops instead of few hundreds is any wiser. Unless ofcourse china wants more area .
But now it's not possible at all.

All of which cost money to an economy which is battered and military which is already stretched beyond its means.

This will be enormously expensive for India even if they were able to plan and execute it, I understand your Nationalistic sentiments but every defense analyst is admitting that this will be a enormous toll on Indian economy and burn a hole in their budget.
